So ba tao. 031207
Wassupp! Unemployed life has been nice. Coming up with a nice looking art portfolio and doing some design stuff for Chicken's new business, Air Maestro Services! We're gonna have a commission program for referring ppl. If anyone needs air con servicing (maintenance, repair, or installation), call him up. Biz card below (his name's actually Jackson...but you can still call him Chicken):
I got a perm and my hair is like a broom now! :P So ba tao! (Broom head). But nah, it's hella cool. :P hehehe
And in other news, I'll be going back to the states for like 6 weeks to chill and work as a promoter. So you can look forward to more adventures of Pinkie & the Brown! (Yurika n me). :P
Ipoh lang. 022407
Hey what's up? gong hey faht choy. Went to Ipoh with Chicken for CNY. Perak Cave Temple was nice. We walked up until the top of the mountain.
I dunno if it's cuz Ipoh's a small town or it's just his family, but life is like slow there. People just hang out all day. Like watching old ass movies on VCD, reading newspapers, going out every once in a while to run some random errand rather than doing all your errands at once. You can hella just fkn rot away there and die of boredom. So we made pomelo hats.
I had fun tho. I was like really myself with him and his family. Like for example, his little sister has a boyfriend and it's her first time dating someone, so I was all like hella auntie and baht poh saying that she should bring him over to meet the family right. So finally she agreed and I was like telling Chicken and his dad that we gotta be all gangster up in there and mess with her bf. Haha..like we positioned the sofa chair directly in front of the door so that Chicken's dad could sit there with a hat on (turned to the side) and holding an ong lai (pineapple). Then me and Chicken would be like on the sides, striking a pose with one leg up on the chair. Then when his sister and her bf come in, we'd be all like mafia and shiet. Hahahahaa stylo ass image right? But they came back so fast that we didn't have time to get in place. :T
I had a realization when I was up in Ipoh. Well, actually two realizations I guess. One was that some people I know are hella like..not on time? Some ppl in Ipoh made me realize that. Like I guess time isn't important to ppl over there cuz everyone's just chillin anyway. (I'm just talking in generalizations.) I think it's rude tho cuz it's like you don't think they're worth the respect to show up on time. Like your time is more important than theirs.
The second realization was Thursday, the day before I had to start work again. It went like this: damn. am I THAT crappy that I gotta stay in a job that I fkn dread going to? am I so sucky that there's nothing but this job that I can do? am I really so strapped that I have no options to choose from? hell NO! Fuck this job! And thus I am free.
The other day I had an interview with OCBC. I'd applied for Trainee Bank Officer, but they actually called me in for Business Development Manager. I was like all fkn psyched until the HR guy actually explained to me what a biz devt mgr is. It's the exact same fkn job that I have now except that I go out and meet clients and I can do research during work hours if I want. But everything else, like lead research is all on your own. You gotta cold call. Basically you gotta pull all the shiet out from your own self. You gotta hit your targets to make sure your 6-monthly contract gets renewed. The only thing different is what you're selling (business banking services), but the guy was like don't worry, our business banking is one of the best. But then basically everything they have, other banks will have. So how can you differentiate your shiet from everyone else's? Service. Yea, service my ass.
That interview kinda pissed me off and made me realize I don't wanna be in that kind of sales anymore. The fact that he called me in for that position made me think, is that all I'm good for? A fkn sales guy that does all the dirty work for your fkn bank? Even when you secure a client, the client will be taken care of by the Key Accounts Manager, not yourself. BAH! BAH you fkn users!
On another note..bought a XaviX gamebox thingie where you can play virtual boxing. :) It's pretty cool, like you put on a pair of boxing gloves and you can box the people in the game. You really get a workout man, I was sore as hell. With my newfound freedom, I'm going back to kungfu training. Wish me luck! :P
For Valentine's Day, Chicken got me flowers. I hella didn't expect him to be the flower giving type. :)
That's all for now in the adventures of jojo!
Dolls. 020307
It's February already man. Monday I'm taking work off to watch the Superbowl with Soren. It's an American thing. :P Hope they have the commercials too.
Taking a couple days off for Chinese New Year. Will be going up to Ipoh with Chicken. I want to eat yu sheng and leen goh (year cake). They better have scaly jy's when I go up...Chicken said they had so much as children that they'd just take em and throw em for fun cuz they got so sick of eating em. OMG THE HORROR.
Oh yanno I recontracted my MaxOnline plan from Starhub last Dec cuz they give you the free HP laptop right. So finally it'll be ready for pickup on Tuesday. The guy that called me to schedule a pickup date tho (I guess he works for HP?) was fkn shitty. What bad telephone manner. His tone totally pissed me off so much that I would wanna make a complaint! The conversation went something like this:
Him: Is this Jocelyn?
Me: You mean Josephine?
Him: Jocelyn?
Me: JOSEPHINE?
Him: Jocelyn?
Me: JOSEPHINE?!
Him: Uh.. OK. Your computer is ready. Can you pick it up on February 6 from 9-5?
Me: Do you have anything on February 5?
Him: Oh.. No.. Your shipment comes in at night.
Me: Oh, you mean it comes in on the night of February 5?
Him: Yea... So... February 6?
Me: Fine.
Him: OK, bye.
It was just so..I dunno. He sounded fkn lazy and bored and didn't fkn care. If the conversation was in person, I'd wanna pop him one in the head. Time of the month.
While I'm complaining...I was hanging out with some ppl the other day and there's this one girl in the group that's tall and skinny right. She looks alrite...but her posture bothers the hell outta me. She's sooooo slouchy. I mean..if you slouch while you sit..eh. But slouching when you're standing, when you're walking? I dunno why but it's such an eyesore. You dig?
Anyway, so last time me and Yurika took pictures at a studio in KL. Finally got the pics. 4 outfits altogether. Twas alrite. Wouldn't go back again.
Cheung geng luk! 012007
Hallo! This is the clay cheung geng luk (giraffe) I made for Chicken's birthday. You like? hehehe.
Just talked to Brownie, so I am happy. But I miss her.
Thinking if perhaps I can start importing scaly jy's to Singapore. And also Flaming Hot Cheetos. hehehe. :) Hmmmmmmm.
Work is alrite. Been slackin kinda tho, cuz looking for new job as well. Boss had like a two hour talk with me, so I'll try to pick it up in the mean time. Might as well make the most out of the commission opportunity right? Let's see if I can break 4000. :P
Dunno what I'll be doing for CNY. Depends on job. Depends on how much leave I have left. Depends.
My wrist still hurts, so haven't been using my lion head and haven't gone back to NWP. Blub blub. Anyhoo. All for now.
The Adventures of Pinkie & the Brown. 010607
Hey hey. Happy new year! Dude, it was hella fun with Brownie (formely known as Yurika) here. Now I'm back to the same ol' routine of work again. But let us reflect on the happier times. :P
First stop on the trip was Vietnam.
We got our nails done,
dressed in ao yais,
got pet dragons,
ate scaly jy's, the BEST FRUIT IN THE WORLD (more on that later),
and I bought a hella pretty lion head for US$60. OMG the shipping was so expensive. I paid US$75 over there to ship it to Singapore and after it reached Singapore, I had to pay hella extra fees and shiet. Around S$300 or more. Fkn shiet. At least I have my lion head and I can start my wu yik pai lion dance troupe! Hehe :P inside joke.
Next, Hong Kong. Not as good as I remembered...where did all the good food go? Where's my HK jook???
A movie star in HK? :P
I put Brown's hair up into 2 balls. Shouldn't she do it more often? :)
Brown was hungry.
Went to visit the big Buddha man on Lantau Island. You can get there by cable car now.
He says hi.
We stopped by in Macau for an afternoon. The city is so gray. I lost 140 HK bucks on the slots.
I would say next was the highlight of our trip. BKK!
My dad..the tuk tuk driver.
Went on a tour to the floating market, elephant farm, elephant show, wood carving factory, crocodile show, rose garden show, gem factory,....
All dressed up to go to the Calypso show.
Me and my gup laa (frog) at Siam Paragon. Paragon's a pretty new mall in BKK with all the hella upscale stores. I like it for the aesthetics, cuz really..they put a lot of effort into making the place pretty. Like the lobby has a big garden thing with water, they have real trees with hanging flowers added on, they park random expensive cars here and there. And each individual store also puts a lot into decoration too. Everything contributes to the upscaleness of the place.
We went to Hatyai next, but there's not really much happening there and stuff's more ex than BKK. Took bus to KL. Went clubbing with my cousin and friends on Christmas Eve. (My first time clubbing, twas fun!)
Us on Christmas. My pants were only RM10!
Back in Singapore, celebrated Brownie's bday at a club.
Back to the BEST FRUIT IN THE WORLD. So Brownie wanted to try out like all the tropical fruits they have here...we bought a lotta different kinds...developed a seething hate for the CHIKU, a dislike for the dragonfruit...came across this scaly fruit which we didn't know the name...tried it out and were so impressed by the absolute yummyness that we had to give it a name. Hence..scaly jy! ("jai", rhymes with "eye"). J is for Jojo, Y is for Yurika, in case you're wondering. Later we found out it's also known as sugar apple. But scaly jy sounds better. I think it's one of my new found goals to bring it into Singapore and make it popular. Cuz fkn hell, I can't find any scaly jy's in Singapore.
