Best Productions

From what I have learned I believe I was one of the first two or three women to become a television director in the United States. In those days it was said that a woman couldn't be in the control room (all that bad language) and give orders to men. Somehow I struggled through. But my best production really was my family. Here they are.

I got my nickname "Ma Barker" when my boys were very young. We would get ready to go to the mall, and my husband, Bob, would say, "There goes Ma Barker and Her Boys, out to terrorize the shopping center."
