Hi Everyone,
Our Comics site is largely finished now. There are fairly
complete listings of all the major series plus most of
the minor ones. Eventually we will be adding additional
comments to the descriptions like which ones are reissues,
famous animators, etc. It's interesting to see some of
the famous names in cartoons and their family members in
the credits on these. The pricing on these is still
pretty tentative but I will be tracking them on ebay for
a few months to get a better idea of their real value.
Speaking of ebay, the number of LT comics selling there
has risen quite a bit in the last few months. If you
watch the auctions you can get some good deals on the
older issues.Richard

Seen in Stores
- Russell Stover has a
set of small Easter pvc's out. They come with a
small box of chocolates and are in the candy
aisles in drug stores. Tweety, Sylvester, Bugs
and Taz at $1.99 each.
- For those with $12,000
dollars to drop Rhayes Instruments has custom
made guitars in the characters shapes. Very
limited editions of Bugs, Taz and Tweety &
Sylvester. URL: http://rhayesinstruments.com
- Walmarts has gold
rings and charms in. They have several rings but
mainly Tweety with a series of Tweety and an
initial. About 10 different charms at ours with
prices ranging from $20 to $50 dollars. Some were
on clearance too.
- Action has a large
series of Dale Earnhardt Taz diecast cars and
accessories. Most of these are limited editions
and can be found in stores that carry a model
selection. Prostar Collectibles carries some of
them. URL: http://www.prostar2collectibles.com/daleearnhardt.html
- Toys to Treasures has
several pages of older items now. Cookie Jars,
ornaments, lamps and salt and pepper sets among
other things. URL: http://www.toystotreasures.com/home/store/shop.asp
- Gallery Lainzberg has
quite a few cels and lithographs along with
framing/matting services and some history on the
animators. URL: http://www.lainzberg.com/

Looney News
- There is a portal site/search
engine for animation and comic related sites. It
is called WebComics and has many categories
including collectibles. URL: http://www.webcomics.com/
- For those interested
in a little history on comic books try Derek
Santos' site. It deals mainly with superheroes
but is well written and has pictures of many of
the older comics. URL: http://www.dereksantos.com/comicpage/
- Gemstone Publishing is
the home of the Overtreet comic guide and Hake's
price guide to Character Toys. I haven't seen a
Hake's in any store so if you have one please let
me know if it is worth getting! The Overstreet
comic guide is the only one that I've found that
lists Looney Tunes comics but it is a very
abbreviated listing with basically just the
prices. Both can be ordered online at Amazon.com
or Borders.com. URL to view the Hake's guide: http://www.hakes.com/book.asp?ID=1
- Jerry Beck has a web
site now. Who is he you say? He is probably the
foremost expert on Looney Tunes cartoons and has
done several books on them. I highly recommend
the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies Guide and if
you collect cel art the WB Animation Art book is
very nice. Not much info on the site yet but he
does have a good daily comments page and you can
see what books he has out. URL: http://www.cartoonresearch.com/
