the back of the lightOne piece of Nette's World We visited the Old Pt. Loma lighthouse which overlooks the entrance to San Diego Bay during our honeymoon in 1990. It doesn't have the tall tower of typical East Coast lights because it was built high up on Pt. Loma. However, it was soon discovered that its place on the cliff was not ideal since clouds and fog often obscured the light. A new lighthouse was built closer to the ground and the old light was darkened on March 23, 1891.
