Welcome to my tropical pages
Thanks to Bill's Lighthouse Getaway pages, I can "see" lots of lighthouses and never leave my living room. One of my Cape Canaveral pictures is on his site since Bill didn't get to take a tour of the light like I did. He saw it as he zoomed by it on the way to see the more famous part of the Cape, all those rockets! He is now offering quality prints, some free desktop wallpaper and some other products on his Stonehills Photography site so please visit him there too. I love his site, but someday I'd love to see some of those lights in person. First is Heceta Head in Oregon. It looks so picturesque sitting way up there on those cliffs. There is an Interpretive Center - Bed and Breakfast at that light which would add a lot of interest to that particular vacation. Split Rock on the shores of Lake Superior is another one that fascinates me. It also sits way up on a cliff and must have a spectacular view of the lake. I've never seen a screwpile type light like the Drum Point Light and Museum so I'd like to return to the northeast where I grew up and visit the screwpile lights which can be found in Maryland and Delaware. It would also be an fun to go to Maine where there are so many lighthouses along the coastline. It would take weeks to visit all the lights in Maine but what an adventure that would be!
The American Lighthouse Foundation will be auctioning off hundreds if not thousands of items on eBay to help raise money for lighthouse restoration and preservation projects. Go into the SEARCH area, then go to BY SELLER and type in the space next to BY SINGLE SELLER the words "forthelights" and everything that is currently listed by the ALF will appear. Check the site often and bid on something to help this worthy cause and to help ensure that there will be lights for future generations to visit.
