Welcome to my tropical pages
For lighthouse preservation societies, Bill's Lighthouse Getaway pages are a good place to go once again. For more information go directly to the Lighthouse Preservation Society pages. As you'll learn by visiting preservation sites, many lighthouses are in danger of disappearing due to erosion of the land they sit on or in need of repairs due to weather and neglect. Lighthouse Preservation societies work toward the preservation of these historic landmarks for future generations to enjoy. Please read about them and, if you can, join them or donate to them to keep the work alive. The American Lighthouse Foundation will be auctioning items on eBay to help raise money for lighthouse restoration and preservation projects. If you are in eBay and want to search for their items, search for the seller "forthelights" and everything that is currently listed by the ALF will appear. Check the site often and bid on something to help this worthy cause.
For information about the preservation of a lighthouse, read the National Park Service's the Historic Lighthouse Preservation Handbook - you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.
