Where to stay?
There's 2 places you can choose to stay in Taman Negara. Taman Negara Resort or Kuala Tahan.

Taman Negara Resort

This resort is located inside the national park. It's on the other side of Kuala Tahan. The park's border is the Tembeling river. Beautiful Malay style air condition chalet with prices ranging from RM200++.

Kuala Tahan

On the other hand, Kuala Tahan is a small village and it's not inside the park. There's plenty of cheap chalets and dormitory with prices starting from RM10++. However, you won't feel like staying inside the jungle because it's quite noisy here with sounds of the running motorboats, cars and lorries. Nusa Camp, another local resort is further up the river has a much more peaceful surrounding. You can ask the people in the floating restaurant, they will be happy to give you information on the places you can stay.

Camping

Camping inside the park is the best way to really enjoy the nature. Camping gear can be rent. Check with the Wildlife Department first before you setup your camp.

taman6.jpg (15867 bytes)We stay at the Tembeling River View Chalet. The chalet is overlooking the Tembeling river. There's a small restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and also a souvenir shop. Room for 2 person is RM30 per night without bathroom, while RM40 for room with bathroom. I like this place, it's cooling with rain trees surroundings the place. We still can hear the motorboat engine sound coming from the river.
