Here's a map of Nepal. Everything starts and ends in Kathmandu, including our trip. From there, it's all Himalayas to the North, and jungles in the south.
The photos are grouped for faster loading. Just click on the region to see the pictures.
Kathmandu Valley: The Kathmandu Valley is basically Kathmandu and a couple of surrounding cities. If you like dust, lentils, cows in the streets, and negotiating for everything (50 rupees...NEVER!), you'll love this place.
Cultural Rituals: Nepal is a very religious country - a combination of Hinduism and Buddhism. We were there during the Dasain holiday, the holiest Hindu holiday in Nepal. Cremations, animal sacrifices, you name it.
Trekking in the Himalayas: We trekked in the Annapurna region from Pokhara. Six days of hiking, camping, and eating lentils.
Terai: The Terai is the jungle area near the India border. Great wildlife viewing, some interesting cultural stuff, and, of course, lentils.
