Downtown Wilmington Riverfront
There have been strollers visit this riverwalk

We are doubly blessed here in Wilmington. Not only do we have the Atlantic Ocean, we also have the Cape Fear River. Wilmington has plenty of historical sights and was once the largest town in North Carolina in the days when transportation of people and goods was dependent on rivers. Come stroll along the riverwalk or take a ride on a real sternwheel riverboat.

This is one of our favorite places downtown. Our daughters love to dip their hands in the water and play in a little sandbox nearby. We can sit and watch the river flow by or watch all the people enjoying their lunches. Off in the distance is the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge and across the water (out of the picture) is the Battleship North Carolina.
This is Trish and Brianna on the sternwheel riverboat Henrietta II. It is hard to see their faces, but it shows the river and the sternwheel. You can have dinner onboard at night or do scenic tours during the day.

This is where Market Street meets the Cape Fear River. I consider it the focal point of downtown. Pretty isnt it.

There is so much more to do downtown from visiting historic homes to dancing the night away at one of the many nightclubs. Visit the Cape Fear History Museum or shop till you drop in the many specialty shops. There are artist studios and shops as well as several art museums. Come enjoy our Historic District.
