In the early 1800's, the southwestern corner of what is now Wisconsin, was past of what was called the Galena Territories. Because of the easily accessible mineral deposits, it was a dynamic mining area for pioneers. Our ancestors came here with their families, from England, to continue their mining and farming careers.
These pages center around Elmer and Nannie Carter. You will find information about their children and their descendants, of course. You will also find information about Elmer and Nannie's ancestors. On Elmer's side of the family those folks include the descendants of Joseph Coulthard and his wife Elizabeth Wilson; and Thomas Peacock and his wife Mary Hutchinson; and John Coltman and his wife Jane Brown.
On Nannie's side of the family, those folks are John Raisbeck and his wife Jane Bainbridge; and John Pedelty (Pedley) and his wife Nannie Spensely (Spensley).
