Li River

One of Bonnie's coworkers told her that when you go to the Li River, you understand why the Chinese paint in black and white.  And you do.  You also understand why this spot is a favourite with makers of Bond, Laura Croft and kung fu films -- not to mention those of National Geographic specials.  The ride from Gulin to Yangshuo takes about 5 hours, and is beautiful.  And if you get tired of black and white, you just need to look down at the life along the river, which is full of color.
