Tiantan Park Three days a year, the Emperor was celibate and fasted before slaughtering a few heads of cattle and other lower life forms. Of course, he needed a special complex to get away from those nagging concubines. This complex is now Tiantan Park. It houses the symbol of Beijing (The Temple of Heavenly Peace), a few slaughtering areas, the buildings the Emperor fasted and celibated in, and a few other structures of interest. The park is used for many things, tai chi, napping and bonding with grandchildren amongst them.
