Our First Guests

After a year here, we finally had our first visit from abroad (actually, from two broads, Bonnie's Mum and Grandma, a.k.a. Donna and Peggy).  In their two weeks here, they ate everything from sushi to tonkatsu (deep fried pork) to octopus--though they did draw the line at tofu.  And they saw many of the things that define Japan: gardens, castles, volcanoes and temples.  Well, they almost saw a volcano.

Little did we know that the volcano we were looking for was right behind them--to see the view without the fog, rest your mouse pointer on the picture

We considered taking our guests to this Octopus/Ice Cream joint, but opted for a classy sit-down octopus place instead
