Fun in the Jungle

It wouldn't be much of a trek if we didn't spend most of our time in the jungle, and we did. Despite the fact that many fields were being burned (for the next planting), there was still plenty of bamboo and teak to go around--not to mention oodles of flowers. One particularly nice spot was a waterfall we stopped to play in for the better part of one morning. It just doesn't get much better than that.

Not sure what variety this is, but I saw a lot of these--mostly in my Singapore Slings. Love those girl drinks.

A store on a small road near the waterfall.

Max (last seen headed back into the jungle)..

One of many villages we passed through. (This one is Akha, and bears a striking resemblance to Asterix's village.)
