    If you don't know by now, London is a very interesting place, for children and adults alike. I've tried to sum up the most entertaining places for you to visit with your children. And after they went to bed, you can go for a night out alone.

London for Kids

Tower Bridge
Animatronic characters from the bridge's past bring to life the story of this unique bridge, told through a series of multi-media presentations inside the structure. Open daily from 10am, 0171-378 1928, (Tower Hill tube).

London Toy and Model Museum
Recently lavishly extended and now housing the most varied collection of toys and models in the world, with interactive displays, working exhibits and ride-on garden train and childrens carousel. At 21-23 Craven Hill, London W2, 0171-706 8000, a short walk from Paddington Station. A wonderland.

MOMI
The Museum of the Moving Image tells the magical story of film and tv. Hands-on activities. Open daily 10am-6pm (last admit 5pm); ring 0171-401 2636 for 24 hr recorded info.

Natural History Museum
Open 10am-5.50pm Mon-Sat and 11am-5.50pm Sun at Cromwell Rd, 0171-938 9123 (South Kensington tube).

Regent's Park Zoo
At the oldest zoological gardens in the world, you can see 12,000 animals. Open daily from 10am-5.30pm at Regent's Park, NW1, 0171-722 3333 (Camden Town or Regent's Park tube).

Rock Circus
An exhibition of rock and pop music from the 1950s onwards. Open Ilam to 9pm, 12am to 9pm (Tues) and 11am to 10pm (Sat/Sun) at London Pavilion, 0171-734 8025 (Piccadilly Circus tube).

Guinness World of Records
The exhibition that brings to life thousands of amazing and spectacular facts and feats from the world famous Guinness Book of Records. 10am-10pm at the Trocadero Centre, Piccadilly Circus, 0171-439 7331 (Piccadilly Circus tube).

Thames Barrier Visitors Centre
Visit the £500m 10 year old structure which has been raised more than 20 times to protect London from flooding. Exhibition and media show, shop, riverside walkway, children's play area and cafeteria. Get there by BR train to Charlton or by boat from Westmister or Greenwich. At Unity Way,Charlton (0181- 854 1373). Schools centre and special evening carvery for groups.

Wembley Stadium Tours
A unique "behind the scenes" tour of the world-famous Wembley Stadium, the home to soccer, greyhound racing, motorcycle speedway, major pop music concerts and many other major promotions. Open daily for guided visits, except on major event days. 0181-902 8833. Close to Wembley Park tube.
