LONDON TOWN is now offering a new service, from the people to the people. What does that mean? It means that if you have anything that you'd like to share with us, the public, about London, The Royal Family or Britian is general, you can do it here! Just click and send, as simple as that.

Here's the first experience I've had the pleasure of recieving,
coming to us from Matti E. Simonaho. Nice one Matt, cheers!

Matti E. Simonaho "Here's a London story of mine for You:
I visited London '87. There was a big computer (Digital Arts) exebishion and I was there with a friend of mine for five days. It is a really exiting town and I had the experience of a lifetime there. We had been there for a couple of days visiting the exebishion and the town and like usual, I got in bed kind of late. Next evening we would head back to Sweden.

About 2 o'clock I heard the fire alarm and rushed up. There was a full storm outside - the biggest one since 100 years back that hit London and that was the the reason why the fire alarm was on. Everybody rushed out of their rooms and downstairs. I met my friend at the top of the stairs and we joined the rush downstairs. Earler we had parked our car outside the Hotel in the street. A smaller car behind ours was bouncing against it and my friend said he will move the car to to the hotels parking lot.

He went out and 10 seconds later he was back in. The wind had lifted him off the ground and boy he was pail in his face. He is only 164cm tall and weights about 60kg. We looked outside and it seemed like the wind was increasing it's strength. I decided to try and reach the car before it got damaged. I grabbed the keys and got out.

It was only 20 meter to the car but it sure was the longest 20 meters I had ever experienced! It took me about 35 minutes to get to the car, pushing my way against the wind! Finally I reached the car and I drove off and parked it on the hotels parking lot. The other car, that parked behind ours, was pushed away by the wind. I had to hurry back inside becouse big branches were torn off the trees and carried away by the wind. I was afraid that one of those would hit me. Well I got back inside and got a whiskey/coffee from the hotels owner ... or was it two?

Later on that day when we drove away from London, back to the boat, we saw big trailers and smaller cars that crashed. The wind lifted up the cars and blown them off the road! I liked London a lot! Now when I look back, the storm was a spice -a strong one- but a spice among many from Your town. I'll be back some day :)

    Sincerely,
    Web Designer
    Matti E. Simonaho."
