I don't remember the set list of the Detroit show because I was too in awe of the band to remember which song was when. I do however remember the first song was Up the Beach, and the last song was Ted...Just Admit it, no encore.

At the beginning of the show Dave, Flea, and Stephen came out on stage, but Perry was no where to be seen. You could feel the anticipation growing and then the worry that maybe Perry wasn't coming at all. Just when the crowd couldn't wait any longer out waltzed Perry, wearing his red outfit (same one as Halloween show) and his hair was sectioned off into dread like ponytails, wrapped in shiney plastic flowers. The rest of the guys were also wearing the same outfits as the show on Halloween, Dave had a skirt and robe, Flea had a bright colored coat and pants, and Stephen had a skirt type thing (hard to tell since he was behind his drum set).

The vocals were really hard to hear all through the first song, but when Oceansize started they had improved a bit. I was right up front, as close as you could get, from what I could gather Perry looked a bit sick, his voice was shakey and he looked tired, still he managed to sing an awesome set. The guys all seemed to be working well together, no problems as far as I could tell. The major distraction would have had to be the crowd, worse than any concert I've ever been too. When Perry talked it was quite obvious that no one knew what he was saying, probably because everyone else was screaming so loud. Even during Summertime rolls people were violently moshing, but I know that I was pretty worked up too. The acoustic set was better, but some people attempted to start another huge mosh pit right near the second stage, luckily the music had a calming effect.

Over all it was a great show, the best I've ever been to (of course I never saw Jane's before they broke up). I talked to one of the security guards before the show and was quite amused. They still hadn't decided how to get the guys out to the second stage when Goldie was finished! From what I saw it looked like Perry just started walking through the hall, and the guards followed. I know this is what happened when the rest of the band joined him because I was standing in the hall and all of a sudden Stephen was headed straight towards me shaking bells. There was definitely a lot of energy, but I would have to say that on the crowd's part most of it was negative. If I were to rate the show on a scale of 1-10, ten being the best, I would give it 100, even though I did lose my shoe and get pretty bruised up.

The setlist is the same as Chicago - except for one thing - NO ENCORE! He ended it with Ted, Just Admit it. And you could tell the die-hard fans were wandering around, kind of waiting for Perry & the boyz to come back out - but no deal. But the show fookin' rocked! Perry was in a red-rhinestoned with white fringe cowboy outfit with his hair all twisted up. Dave came out in a full length red velvet robe with black trim - but soon was in nothing but a multi-colored metallic skirt and fishnet. Flea wore some krazee patterned outfit - and Steve cut his hair off. The stage was very "ritual" like - phat flower boquets and fringed umbrellas everywhere - and the dancers - woo-hoo - they really got into during Ted, Just Admit it - they kept climbing up and down the poles and flipping and dancing and just groovin. Anyways, the whole place went nuckin futs when they played Stop! And I was so entranced when Perry sang Classic Girl....and then, and THEN... they played Chip Away - Perry dedicated the song to the spirits - they were all banging away on the drums - it was the best song of the nite!! And after the lights came on and they started to take down the stage, people were looking for their shoes they had lost in the pit and others were scrounging for ground scores - one guy found his car keys AND a guitar pic. Lucky guy, but we were all lucky to have been able to see Jane's Addiction live, which is something I never thought I'd see, but I wished for, so now I think that if that can happen - anything can happen!
