ABdA  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Arturo B. del Ayre. I am a registered Electrical Engineer by profession, a writer by avocation, a philatelist by passion. I was born in Legazpi City, the site of the world's most perfect cone Mayon Volcano, about three decades ago. I presently work in southern Philippines for a steel manufacturing company.
My personal profile can be viewed at PlanetAll.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Are you married?
A: Yes, I am happily married to a beautiful wife, Bebot, and have two 5- and 3-year old sons == REJ as in Reuben Eule Josephus and REX as in Reeve Eli Xavier.

Q: What is your relationship to REY ADEL?
A: Have you heard about pen name, pseudonym, or nom-de-plume? He is my alter-ego, the person inside me who is the writer. My relationship with him is more personal than with my wife, and to think that he is only a figment of my imagination, a mist in my mind or what have you! Didn't you get it? Haven't you notice that basically it's just the anagram of my family name. When I do write the non-romantic stuff, though, I use my other name RAS MALLON, the concantenation of my parents middle names. Now . . . YOU'RE CONFUSED!

Q: Who gave you the authority of publishing a Stamp Catalog of the Philippines on the Internet?
A: Well . . . Let me see . . . The following is a short answer to this question. If you want a longer one, click here. I discovered the utility of the Internet some years back. With philately being my passion since I was little, I used the search engines to find the links for stamps or philately. Yes, they return some hundreds links. Filtering these links to solely return those with Philippines on them, I found out that there are only a number of them on-line, four or five depending on the search engine. Looking at them individually, though, the search engines' lists are basically the same, meaning almost all of the links point to the same sites, these are listed on my Philatelic Links: Services / Collections page. Armed with these aforementioned facts in addition to my accumulation of Philippine stamps through the years of pain-staking collection and studying; a great free web space at GeoCities; and the perseverance to finish a gargantuan job, I believe I am authorized to do this because no other on-line entity, not even the Philippine Postal Corporation, has done it yet. The stamps are owned by public domain, although the vignettes are copyrighted (which I do not claim as my own) by their principal owners. The information regarding them are culled from research and study. Most come from stamp catalogs authenticated with careful research on Philippine History, Culture, Natural Resources, as the case maybe and some by pure luck.

Q: Why don't you use frames?
A: I hate frames, period. Some present browsers aren't capable of reading HTML in frames. You just have to view this site frameless.
