GEOCITIES CONNECTION
I have started my web site at GeoCities mid-1996. At first, I don't know much on HTML, GIF and JPEG Construction, and the like. Through frequent surfing and viewing source codes of other sites, the programmers' fever caught me again. Initially, I cannot decide on the format and content, etc. Instinct must have a hidden force that I came up with the web site existing features after dabbling with so many ideas. Although a lot more is to be done, I am foreseeing the following features for this web site:
Searchable database catalog of Philippine Stamps from periphilatelic and present issues. I am learning CGI scripts and Javascripts for the moment.
Much detailed individual stamp history and description of features, behind-the-scenes history, latest stamp valuations, etc.
More complete and quality images. Re-scanning them with better resolution. Perhaps, volunteers could be tapped to send in graphics file (GIF or JPEG) of Philippine Stamps in their possession and facilitate their inclusion to the database of images in my web site. I am accepting JPEG images (much preferable, although GIF would do--beggars cannot be choosers, huh?) of used or mint Philippine stamps using the following WinJPEG set-up:
Gamma Correction 1.0
Maximum Color Depth: 24-bit
JPEG Save Options Quality: 100
Smoothing factor: 0 with Entropy Optimized.
