Iseki
The Isekis were the first family that I lived with.  I arrived at their home on August 19, 1997.  I lived with them until the end of November.  I had an interesting time while living with them.  I remember the first night thinking, "What did I get myself into?"  From there things got better though.  The Isekis consisted of Rie, 17; Atsuyoshi, 19; Papa, Sadao; Mama; and 2 grandparents.   Occasionally Sadao's bother would visit.  They were a very close knit family.  We had dinner almost every evening together.  Sadao was the
Rotary member.  He owned his own 12-story office building.  His business mainly dealt with real estate.  His father, my host-granddad, worked in the same building in the office next to Sadao's.  Mama and my host grandma worked around the house.  Rie was a student like me.  She was the one who spoke English the best for she went to the United States for a month during the summer of 1997 and she had an English tutor come to the house every week.  Atsuyoshi was just beginning to enjoy his freedom because he had just gotten his license (In Japan you have to be 18) and he was in his first year of college.  With the family I did many things and went to many places.  I liked them very much.
