Hotaru is the daughter of the evil Professor
Tomoe. She is extremely weak and tires quickly. Despite this, she has the power to heal
and wants to be a doctor some day. She lives in lonely seclusion and collects lamps to
light up her dark rooms. Through his evil chemistry, the Professor transforms Hotaru into
Mistress 9, but she is defeated and saved by Sailor Moon. Her salvation ends by her being
transformed into a baby which Haruka and Michiru take to raise.
As Sailor Saturn, she is arguably the most powerful scout. The power of her Glaive of
Silence can and does level whole planets. If Saturn is not careful with her powers, great
mayhem and destruction can occur. When Saturn arrives on the scene, you can usually be
sure that all Hell is about to break loose.
