Please Note: XG/GS MIDI Jukebox is written in Visual Basic 5 and requires the VB5 runtime modules. If you have never installed a VB5 program before or this software does not work on your machine, simply download and install the latest runtime modules.

Yes, here at last. The Windows 95/98/NT version! Version 5.1 of the program supports ALL sound cards/sound modules and has been rewritten for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0.

XG/GS MIDI Jukebox includes all the features of the Windows 3.1 version

Extra features in this version include:

• Support for long file names. Especially useful for files you are downloading off the 'Net
• Optionally play the "Newest" songs first. See above!
• Drag and Drop MID files from Explorer
• Up to 5,000 songs per Album
• Up to 500 directories for Random/Sequential play
• Delete, Rename, Copy or Move a MID file while it is being played! How often have you downloaded a MID file only to find it is a duplicate? Well now you can delete it or save it somewhere else as required.
• Special support for resetting the SB16 and/or AWE32/64
• Resizable window for those who like small jukeboxes
• Support for .ZIP files as well!
• Special support for AWE32 and AWE64, including banks/soundfonts
• Version 4.2 added the Advanced Playback Feature (just look at the screen shot below). Now you can adjust all aspects of the MIDI file as it is playing. Want to mute/solo a track? Change the instrument/patch? Add some more Reverb or Chorus? Help yourself!

Some features of the jukebox require the ability to send MIDI messages to your sound card while the MID file is playing. This is called having a multi client MIDI driver. If your sound card driver does not support multiple clients, you can download the excellent Freeware program Hubi's Loopback Cable off my MIDI Utilities page which will give you this functionality.

What's new in Version 5.1?

Version 5.1 provides the ability to minimise the Jukebox into the System Tray. It also includes the Piano Keyboard (see above). You can use this to play along with any MID file or just to see the notes as they are being played! The keyboard can be split to allow you to play, say, Bass Guitar in the left hand while playing a Tenor Sax in the right hand.

Version 5.1 also provides the XG/GS MIDI Monitor and XG/GS Enhanced Mixer as bonus utilities!

Version 5.0 added the ability to control the Master Volume for sound cards, external MIDI modules and soft synths. No other jukebox does that :-)
