Earth Stones

All the stones mentioned here are in my collection.  Most of this information is material I've found on the web.  As I can limber up my typing fingers I'll replace it with my own notes from my book of shadows.(denoted by italic boldface type)

AMAZONITE is an light aqua blue earthstone. It is excellent for those who live or work in harsh, toxic, or fast paced environments because of its ability to soothe the nervous system and absorb negativity. It has an affinity for toxic fumes and will draw them from the tissues and blood.

   AMBER is a powerful healing stone which stores a large amount of cosmic and organic energy.  Amber is an amplifier, and because it's a fossile (rather than a stone) it has associations with time, cycles and longevity.  It is sacred to Freya and can be used in love and sex magic.   Unlike Carnelian of some of the other "passion stones" Amber only works in the scheme of things, it calls to those who are destined to be your lover.  Amber won't heat up a causual relationship or attract a lover for just a one night stand what it will do is help manifest and solidify the physical side of a relationship.

ARAGONITE  The interesting quality of this mineral is that it shows the spherical nature of beingness while it also expresses the aspects of self reaching out to experience life, knowledge, essence. It is an empowerment mineral in the past given to young adults in recognition of the responsibility of adult tasks now being required of them. It possesses the ability to strengthen the internal chakra chord so that it is able to bear more light and, therefore, more "witness" of the higher self. It is a subdued essence of mineral allowing great tranquility and self expression of personal power which may be required of young adults so that their competitive drive can be expressed more toward enthusiastic cooperation. The spherical nature of beingness is what allowed Columbus to first deduce that circumnavigation of the globe was possible. The quality of committing oneself to the proof and attainment of spiritual spherical essence is supported by Aragonite. The knowledge of self as a bundle of vibratory frequency in molecular matter is supported by Aragonite as well. (Activates the 3rd chakra.)

BLACK ONYX stabilizes and strengthens the wearer's energetic foundation by attracting color rays first to the base chakra and then to the other chakras up to the brow. It also serves as a protector and grounder and helps one to recognize and resolve harmful or unwanted habits.

BLOODSTONE is either dark green with red dots or a multicolored earthstone whose mission is primarily with the physical body. Over time it teaches the wearer more about body awareness and highlights areas that need attention. It then begins to bring into one's awareness information about resources to best resolve these physical issues.

CHYSOCOLLA This stone releases stress and is balancing to the emotions and the mind. It strengthens the lungs and thyroid and reduces anger and fear. The color ranges from blue to turquoise. (Acts on the 5th chakra.)

EMERALD, a type of beryl, is prized for its translucent, rich green color. When worn in spherical form, alone or in combination with other stones, it works to infuse the bodies with the green ray and to locate and metabolize disharmony. When combined with aventurine it is an excellent adjunct to cancer therapies as it shocks, isolates, and dissipates the cancer's vibratory rate, allowing the body to replace it with a more harmonious vibration.

HALITE (pink) It will calm agitation, heart palpitations and anxiety. It provides a link to the earth vibrations which may be missing for some. It is not a grounder like obsidian. Instead, it is a more diffuse bridging across elements rather than drawing down to one in particular.  (Acts on the 2nd and 3rd chakras.)

HEMATITE is very grounding and stabilizing. It helps those whose awareness is always in their head, or those who are overly emotional, to be better balanced. Too much hematite tends to inhibit all change.

HOWLITE is a soft white stone with black or gray inclusions. Its calcium carbonate composition gives it an affinity for our skeletal structure and aids with calcium absorption and distribution. It also works with issues of procrastination by encouraging the wearer and highlighting excuses that lack validity.

JET This black mineral is a type of coal formed from carbonized wood. It has been revered as a protector against illness and personal attack by many ancient civilizations, especially those of the European continent. People were even buried with it to protect them in the afterlife. It was used specifically for toothache by the Greeks. (Acts on the 1st chakra.)

LABRADORITE This is an iridescent feldspar (spectralite is the clear form) Night vision and flight close to the ground are enhanced by Labradorite. It sensitizes the ability of the human's heat sensing apparatus to detect how close objects are. This
heat sensing ability of the human begins with being able to see auras and this is an electrosensitive skill. When it develops to the next octave higher, the ability to gauge distance accurately from the level of energetic impulse is increased. It is an excellent stone for blind people. It is an excellent companion stone to Aurichalcite. (Acts on the 6th chakra.)

MALACHITE is a forest green earth stone with black banding. The bands in healing quality stones are well defined and relatively straight. This is the stone for those who wish to develop an intimate relationship with planet Earth. It contains, within its matrix, the historical records of the planet since its formation and will reveal them to the wearer. Malachite works with opening communication within the physical body so all aspect work in harmony. It relaxes muscles and can help one to sleep.

MOSS AGATE helps one to experience their higher self, Nature, and unconditional love. Like most green stones it also helps to increase abundance, prosperity, and healing. It is often worn to help one to communicate with nature spirits. It helps to heal the "inner child".

PERIDOT helps to strengthen, detoxify, and heal physical glands and organs. It improves inner as well as outer vision. Peridot allows the mind to reach beyond the small self and experience wholeness. It blocks fragmentation, irreverence and disrespect.

RHYOLITE is an earth stone that has a strong affinity for the chakras. It balances and aligns the front and back doors of the chakras while simultaneously encouraging each of the chakras to participate equally in supporting the ebb and flow of energy circulating throughout the body. This process assists the wearer to stay grounded and focused in the present.

SNOWFLAKE OBSIDIAN is naturally formed black and gray volcanic glass. Like many black stones it is grounding and protecting and helps bring stability to the wearer. In addition this stone resonates with disharmonies in the body (particularly smoke) and helps draw them from the body. It also helps to oxygenate the cells.

TURQUOISE -- Are you out going, pnysically active, an open generous person?  Turquoise most closely matches your energy.  There is an open hearted generosity to turquoise, an effervescent, inclusiveness that people will find irresistable if worn by the right person.  It's a dynamic stone.

UNAKITE is an earth stone that focuses on organs, muscle, and soft tissue. It draws out disharmony in the tissues and facia resulting in a release of negative cellular memory and an increase in fluidity and relaxation.
