Meet SueAnn and Jen!

We thought that you would like to learn a little about us.

SueAnn
jjjjjjjjjj Hi! My name is SueAnn. I was one of the two Senior Girl Scouts creating this website. I graduated in June '99 from Clearview High School and currently attend Kent State University majoring in Interior Design. I had been involved in Scouting for eleven years during school. I started out as a Daisy in kindergarten with my mom as my troop's leader. Mom was my leader for 4 years. When I was in 8th grade, I stopped Scouting because there were no other girls in my school interested in Girl Scouts to form a troop. In 10th grade, Jen asked me if I still wanted to be involved in Girl Scouts. I was anxious to return to Scouting because I had missed it. I'm still involved in Scouts because I like volunteering to help out the community. It makes me feel good to know that I have helped someone else.
jjjjjjjjjj Throughout my Senior Scouting years, I have helped my troop plan Thinking Day activities for the Lakers Service Unit in 1997 and 1998. I have attended Lorain Day Camp Meetings in 1998 and 1999 to help plan our week of summer fun! In April '99, I earned my Gold Award.
jjjjjjjjjj I chose to do a Gold Award Project because it is the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive. (Plus some colleges have scholarships.)
jjjjjjjjjj My family is made up of my dad, mom, and one sister, Karen, who was also in my troop. She is a junior and is starting to work on her requirements for her Gold Award. I also have a pet rabbit named Pepper. He is so cute! I play clarinet in band (even at Kent!) and I love listening to a variety of music. I was very involved in extracurricular activities at school. Some of the clubs I was involved in include Scholastic Challenge, National Honors Society, Yearbook, Teen Institute, Science Olympiad, Prom Committee, and of course, band.

This is me as a Brownie in second grade.

Jen
jjjjjjjjjj Hi! My name is Jen. I'm the other half of this project. I had been in Girl Scouts for 13 years. I started as a Daisy in kindergarten and have had so much fun that I never stopped. My Daisy leader was Miss Johnson at Masson Elementary School. My leaders in 1st grade were Miss Spencer and my mom, Judy. My mom took over the troop in 2nd grade and has been my leader ever since.

I also took part in the planning of Laker's Thinking Day in 1997 and 1998, Lorain Day Camp in 1998 and 1999 and earned my Gold Award in April 1999. I've attended day camp since I was going into the 1st grade. The only year that I missed was my freshman year because I was out of town for band camp. Because I had been going out to camp for so long I felt it was only fair that I give back some of what I'd learned out there and help plan camp for younger girls.

I chose to earn my Gold Award for the challenge and the great feeling I know I will get when I receive the award know that it's the highest award possible. It has helped me to learn to keep myself organized, and manage my time wisely. It will also help out in a few months down the line for college. lalala

This is me as a Daisy. Girl Scouts were celebrating their 75th Anniversary and I was choosen to give the mayor a box of cookies and he gave me a kiss on the cheek in return.

My future plans include college and eventually a family. I intend to major in pre-K education. After college I hope to meet the man of my dreams, get married, and have three children. Hopefully all three will be boys.

I enjoy listening to the radio (mostly alternative), spending time with my friends, and taking care of my hamster.

I was also involved in school activities like SueAnn. I was in marching and concert band, Teen Institute, and a mat maid (that's with wrestling).

I hope you enjoyed our project and will come back and visit again!
