Angel!

Finding The Perfect Friend For Coco!

This time when we decided to get another Yorkshire terrier, we decided to buy our new puppy from a Yorkie breeder.
We had heard and viewed some sad stories about "puppy farms"!
We did not want to encourage this type of business.
We were very lucky to find just the right breeder a few miles away from where we lived.
We made a few visits to the kennel before we decided on a little bundle of pure energy.

When I first saw the puppy I wanted, she looked so sweet I immediately referred to her as a "little angel"!
Of course she became "Angel"!
Soon we found out this was a misnomer. She should have been named "Little Devil"!
We then introduced Coco to her, he checked her out as doggies will, then totally ignored her.
It seemed he was more interested in another little female.
The lady told us not to worry it would take a little while for them to make friends.

We went home assured that all would be okay once they where home, just give them a few days to adjust.

The next morning we began to see Miss Personality go into action.
She was into everything!
She began her antics by carrying her food dish down the hallway of our travel trailer.
Food was flying everywhere.
Next she began chasing Coco!
Soon our Angel was taking off with the small water dish, this time with water flying everywhere.
We soon realized that Angel was not a puppy who would be ignored.
She DEMANDED attention!
When she woke up from her nap she would come over to us, and before we could even reach down to pick her up, she had started to climb up the pant leg of our sweat suit.
We knew this tiny puppy who weighed all of a pound, was going to be a force in our life!
Coco still ignored her!

The second week we had Angel, she was left on the settee while Mike got up to get something.
In a flash Angel had fallen to the floor with a terrible bang.
I rushed to pick her up and began to check her out fearing the worse.
Angel whimpered but seemed okay, still we rushed her to the vet for a quick checkup.
The vet assured us she was okay, she was just frighten.
One thing that came of this fall was that Coco became very interested in her.
He had come over to check on her immediately. He had begun to lick her, but we called it "kissed" her, and from that moment on these two became fast friends.

They became inseparable, they played together, ate together, and curled up together to sleep.
Eight years later and the strong bond is still there.

Things are not always perfect however.
Angel hates going for car rides. She is terrified of thunder storms, or even a heavy downpour.
She hates having her toenails cut, nor is she fond of having baths either.

Today Angel is nearly eight, she weighs five pounds, and she is as stubborn as she is sweet!
