To Gina's 2nd's

Hi! I'm Gina, a stay at home mother of 3. Kristin is 10, Daniel is 7, and my baby Tyler is 20 months. I am also the wife of Mitch (otherwise known as Flipper282 and NovlBarRat.) So as you can see, I'm pretty busy. I want this page to be for stay at home moms like me. I've stayed with my kids since my first was born, so I know how isolating it can feel sometimes. If you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions to make for this site, I would much appreciate the input. Also, if you know of a great site for stay at home moms or dads, or if you have one, send me the address, and I would love to put the link here!

Gina's Comments:

As I mentioned earlier, I've been a stay at home mom for 10 years now, since the birth of my first child. I felt then that I was the last of a dying breed. When people asked me what I did for a living, I honestly answered, "I stay at home and take care of my kids", recieving mixed reactions. Thankfully the art of actually "raising" our children seems to be coming back into syle, and people are beginning to realize we don't just sit around, eating bon bons and watching soaps. Personally, I can't remember the last time I even sat down through a whole half an hour tv show before the kids are in bed for the night!

What we do as stay at home parents is the hardest, most important, and most rewarding work that anyone could ever do. We know how thankless it can be at times, how isolating when you have a sick child that you can't take out, who needs you around the clock, and how unappreciated we sometimes feel when after all our best efforts a child is still not happy. But at the same time, we are with our children to watch them grow, and not miss even one of those precious moments we will remember forever, and recall someday to our grandchildren. No matter how crazy a day may be, we are never bored, and never wonder if we did anything worthwhile today. No child is perfect, neither is any parent despite our best efforts, but we are the lucky ones, we get to watch our perfect little creations become what we hope will be better adults than maybe we are, and we can take full credit.

To My Husband

I thank my husband for providing an environment that allows me to be here with my children for as long as they need or want me. Also for understanding that we have a very time consuming baby, and two very hyper older children who are better at making messes than cleaning them (in other words, normal), and that even though we may never win a Good Housekeeping award, they are always taken care of. I know it's not always easy being Daddy, sometimes there just doesn't seem like enough Mommy to go around.

To My Children

What can I say? There are not enough words in the English language to describe what your presence has brought into my life. You are what makes my life worth living, and proof that I have a purpose for being on this earth. Nothing I have done or will ever do will ever measure up to the creation of you. I am the luckiest mom alive to have you as my life, I will never accomplish anything that means as much to me as being chosen to be your mom. Where ever you go, what ever you do, don't ever forget how much you mean to me. Thanks for being my kids.
