Welcome to my
World Of Wild Cats
You better grab
a cup of coffee and sit down, you
have nooo idea what's in store... I know I didn't!
It all started
at work about two years ago.
It was a typical day guarding the gate until I
just had to look out the window and see a
beautiful stray cat who looked hungry. So...
I did what any animal lover would do, I put
out some food for her. She was real skittish
and did not want me around her so I knew
she was a wild cat no one wanted. She was
skinny and dove into the food and I felt bad
for her. I did this for a couple days and
every time she saw me she would hiss at me.
So, I named her Hissy... Now here is where
it all really begins... Hissy decides I'm ok, so
lets bring along a friend...uh huh yup you got it.
Now I have Hissy and a male I named Baby.
Hissy on left
and Baby on right, yup see the little baby whine?
Notice also he is inside with me! Baby is just that, a baby who
wants constant attention or you get to listen to his whining.
It took only one month for Baby to realize humans are great
head and back scratchers so put them to work! Hissy
was not satisfied with Baby so brings along Shelly, one
real big mean looking male and I mean BIG!!! He had
battle scars all over him. What I did not know at the time
was he had a home at one time, and a good one. Shelly ended
being one of the most gentle cats I have ever met. And YUP
BAD HISSY!!!!
Now Look!!!
Meet Hissy's kids :-(
Sassy on your
left, Shy Lady top right, and Pinky
lower right. geeeeeeeze! Now Hissy why did you go
and do that??? And yes, Hissy expects me to feed them!
Pinky was with us about two months before we lost her.
I never did find out what happened and don't think I want
to know...
Sassy is just that, one of the most talkative cats I have met.
Bossy does not even come close but what a personality! I fell
in love with her from the start and Hissy trusted me with them.
Shy Lady stayed back most the time, she didn't like to be
handled much but by all means, hand dinner over now please.
Ok, I can handle this... what's 5 mouths to feed? For months
my two little ones stay near me and constantly demand attention
and food and yes, they get their way... Hissy meanwhile still
won't let me touch her, the hissing has almost stopped though.
My kids are now 8 months old and OH NOOOOO!
all 3 females are gaining weight!!! I did Not! ask for this!!!
geeeeeeeeze 9th month.... look at what Sassy brought me!!!
awwwwwww a tiny Sassy!!!!
Meet Honey
OH OH two sassy's!!!
Meet Pepsi and Honey
geeeeeeze!!! and a whiskers!!!!
Oh geeeeze you whine like your Uncle Baby
And Sassy where
on earth are you going!!!!
You forgot your kids!!!!
Sigh.... guess
granny has to watch the kids...
Now whoever heard of a wildcat leaving her kids
with a babysitter???? and why me???
Something is so very wrong with this picture!
I am here to guard the gate not baby-sit Sassy.
Now here we go!!! I am trying to look professional
here guys!!! Stop hanging off my pant legs!!!
Pepsi!! Get your claws off my butt so I can
get up and let the visitors in!!!! And oh yeah, that
was not missed by the visitors either!!! geeeze. No
wonder Sassy leaves them with me everyday for almost
my whole shift! Poor honey has her hands full.
What a handful these three are!!! and oh how I would
just once like to have my chair to myself, but oh no, I get
the old one!
OOOPS!!!
Lets not forget Bandit!!! If the cats can eat,
well then, so can I... That is Bandits motto..
Just what I needed, and yes, he is inside with me!
Nope, I did not ask him in, nor did I let this continue.
He now shares the dish outside with the adult cats!!!
and yes, Bandit has a family of three...
Now this is not the end of the story... Shy Lady also
brought around 4 babies but they have her personality
and will not come inside with the other kittens yet. They
are only about 3 weeks old but already getting into
mischief. I have no pictures yet of them but will post
them after I get them. I'm afraid they will be harder
to tame but I will have to do it or finding homes for
them won't be as easy as with Sassy's 3... yes, they
have homes waiting for them already. I will miss them
a lot, they are Sassy's kids and her personality shines
through all three of them but for now its just not
the time for me to take them and I want them to
live a life in a home not out in the wild.

Here are the
final pictures of my little babies..
They have all gone to excellent homes :-)
For being wild, and kittens
I can say they never bit or scratched me.
They played gently with me... I was their
second mother in their book. Giving them
up was one of the hardest things I have had
to do in a long time.
Honey pretending to be a boxer
she loved to p0unce on those
renolds wrap balls I made for them.
Honey my favorite... look at that face
I am going to miss her the most. Just
don't let the innocent little face fool you...
Honey is the one who loved to come to me
on the run and climb up my leg to get held.
I have many tiny little marks to remind me
of her escapades. Honey is also the one who
loved to grab my pen and try to take off with
it. She is also the one who would get in my
chair, get behind me, then push me to the edge
so she could steal my chair from me.
Whiskers, uh huh, look at them LOL
I had to change his name from bootsie...
This was my instigator!!! Honey and
Pepsi would be sleeping and Whiskers
would just wait on the back of the chair
and plan sneak attacks on them, and when
he knew they were asleep, pounce right on
top of them both and the fight would be on
yet again LOL
Get that ball Whiskers :-)
My little gang taken over MY chair LOL
tired guys?
Oh how my little ones loved that rubbery toy
and yes, they are in my chair yet again LOL
I am going to miss this gang, but at least
I don't have to worry about them getting
hit by a car or getting killed by the wildlife
around there. Everyone who took them
promised to keep me updated and so far
it sounds like they are all going to be very
spoiled little kitties, uh huh, as if they weren't
already LOL
But then, what are Granny's for? And
Sassy made me their Granny :-)
Whiskers I see quite often, he travels
everywhere with his new family, and I
see he is well loved :-) Pepsi, lives next
door and has taken over the place :-)
Honey my baby, went to a home with
two kids so will be held a lot like she loves.
She won't lack for arms holding her to sleep.
I am sure the saga is not even close to being
finished though, I still have hissy, sassy and
shy lady... and to make matters worse, I have
now seen yet another huge male hanging around.
He is beautiful, a black and white which leads
me to think he is whiskers father. I have no
idea where he comes from or if he is even wild.
I hope so, or someone has some explaining to do
as to why he hasn't been fixed before now!
It's uncalled for these days... he is not a pure
bred so not around for breeding purposes.
Fix them, or keep them inside... these cats
are lucky, they have me to take care of them
somewhat. Life in the wild is very unkind
and we hope to have a round up and catch
the adults and get them fixed. They are too
wild now to take home, but at least this way
we can cut down the population somewhat.
I was lucky to have been trusted by the mother
to be able to tame these little ones and find
homes for them. It's not like that usually.
Take Hissy, she also had two kittens but
kept them away from me and now I cannot
even get close and there is only one survivor
in her litter, I'm afraid the fox may have
gotten the other :-( It looked like a little sassy.
6/7/00
Wow, its been almost exactly a year and so
much has happened since I last updated this page.
Oh yeah, there have been more litters and a new
morning guard! hehehe... he never knew what
was heading his way when he joined us! I
think it started almost a month or so after he joined us
uh huh! Sassy decided it was time for more kids around.
I knew they were around but sure wasn't prepared
for what happened. I came to work innocently thinking
it would be yet another normal day.... yeah right! As I
approach the guardhouse a little tiny rat looking kitten
with huge ears pops out of the bushes and comes over
and sits on my foot! Oh Oh... giggle what an ugly duckling
this one was.... she was bound and determined to get my
attention so I picked her up.... wrong move! I had to hold
her most of my shift! The other 4 were so much more
timid... yup 5 kittens! Here we go again. We started
to round them up and bring them in to tame them... well,
all but Tiny who decided I was her security blanket.
She would sleep in my arms for hours.... and I would keep
trying to put her in other peoples arms and she would start
to yawl like crazy... not a normal sound either! more like
squeaks! By then I had decided I wanted the sassy look-alike
to take home and the black one who reminded me of whiskers.
I had no say in the matter whatsoever! Tiny didn't want
anyone around but me so I decided if she wanted to be
with me that much, then I would take her home instead
of the black one. You think I'm a whoose don't you... well, I am not
alone.... The morning guard took the black one and also
one who was black and white and looked like a skunk with
its markings LOL.... so I'm not alone in that department.
Between the two of us... we took the whole litter.
I took Tiny and Lil Sass for myself and Tiggers a cute
looking tiger kitten who looked just like Baby. he was to go
to another guard in a couple days....
Day One at home!
Tigs the day I was bringing him home... 5 weeks old
He had been on solid food for over a week and Mom
had quit taking care of them so I knew it was time.
Tiny refused to leave that dish for some reason
and fell asleep. Look at the ears!
LOL geeeze Tiny! and lil Sass
she reminds me a little of my honey!
This is day two and already on top of the computer!
Guess life in a house isn't so bad after all.
he looks bigger doesn't he... sigh... we couldn't
separate them so yes... all three live with us.
What a little doll my little man is...
Get that ball! He just is not normal! We have
decided that Tigs thinks he is a dog! I throw
toys across the room and he fetches them and
brings them right back to me and drops them on
my lap! And whatever you do... don't show him a
flashlight! He starts making these squeaky noises
and gets so excited... a light to chase.
ummmm Tiny you coming to work with me?
That was my work bag!
Tigers at about 5 months... sure hope he
quits growing! he is twice the size of my
little girls! Tigs is a combination of his
whiney daddy and talkative mom. He is
also as gentle as his parents. You can try to
wrestle with him and he refuses to use his teeth
or claws. he just lays there debating on what to do LOL
Ummmm hmmmm Porcelain doll! yup, her favorite
spot hence her new nickname!
Lil Sass at 5 months... ummm I believe
that was my bear!
awwww :-) Look at Tiny at 5 months...
now a little swan :-) and yes... she is my
favorite now and nicknamed precious. A one
person cat as well. You know when someone is coming
to the door... just watch her fly under the couch LOL
She tolerates no one around her and rarely wants to be held these
days but what a doll and far too smart for her own good! She loves
to give you attention but on her own terms... but then she was like
that from the day I met her. She loves to watch Tigs and Sass get
into trouble and you can actually see her gloat!
But! if its her, she runs and hides and pouts for hours
walking by you and giving you dirty looks... Sass is the
only one who actually acts like a cat. When told no, just gives
that look and keeps right on about her business... tigs gets upset
and either hides in the cat carrier or a cupboard with the door
shut so you can't see him. I have also a few times found him
behind the couch facing the corner! Not normal Tigs! My
babies will be a year in August. They rule the house...
They have a princess bed on my bed... lots of toys and cat
climbing items all over. When young I even set up monkey type
bars with hangy things on it for them to play with. They loved it.
another litter that was still in the wild...I think they
were about 4 weeks old then. The one in front looks
a bit like the one the other guard took. And which I
heard was a handful LOL
The little Tiger kitten now in his new home :-)
looks like my tigs doesn't he. And just as spoiled. My
kittens have a screened in porch and all are fixed now. They will
never run loose. It's just not safe around here. I won't allow mine
to continue another saga with other cats. I am not a breeder so did
the right thing. Something all of us should do.
If I get any more pics of my babies I will post them.
Sad*Sac came to our rescue! We became over run
with kittens ( 11 of them ) and they picked them up. They
plan on coming back and getting the adults fixed.
Finally someone who could help us.
This is a volunteer group who will take
them to a vet, test them, fix them, give them
shots and place them in homes. All this is done
through donations. Please! Help them Help others
who are in similar situations. You can send

NONE are put down! They work with Pet Smart.
Please help save our animals!
If you live in or around the Palm Beach area and
would like to volunteer your time or home to foster
animals while they are waiting to be put into the system
please contact them. They need foster parents badly.
If you are not a breeder... please get your animals
fixed. It is the right thing to do. If you don't plan on
keeping your animals then don't get one to begin with.
So many want a kitten or puppy and then turn them
loose when they grow up... You have got to realize
that nature makes them grow up! You may think they survive,
but they usually don't. This is happening far
too often. These animals only want to love and be loved
in return! They have feelings just like us!
Palm Beach County has thousands of dogs and
cats put down each year! that is only one county.
That is a huge estimate and lots of people who
didn't want their pets! That's cruel! and cold!
It is also the reason I didn't call them to help with
our cat problem. I wanted to keep them alive until I
found a group who would help. no one else may want
them... but they have me and I love them all. Ask
Sad Sac... when we were hunting down all the kittens
I had to walk through the development and Hissy of
all cats followed me all the way back to the gatehouse.
She may not want to be handled but she knows who loves
and takes care of her. Sassy on the other hand greats me
almost everyday at my car when I get to work and
walks me to the gatehouse. Maybe that is why her son
acts like a dog?!
