Galen Clark Haynes

Clark was born on June 26, 1979 (my half birthday, HA!), in Akron, Ohio. I love him (despite his Ohio-ness, hee hee) and think he's so cool- especially because he was named after the "Guardian of Yosemite!" He recently graduated from The University of Michigan in April 2002 with a BSE in Computer Engineering, and is currently pursuing his PhD at Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute.

Clark has arranged several songs for DJs, including Enjoy the Silence (Depeche Mode), Everything You Want (Vertical Horizon) -which got on BOCA! yea!, Everywhere (Michelle Branch), and Babylon (David Gray). He was Dicks and Janes' Business Manager for two years (Fall '00 - Winter '02), and is a recipient of The Marc Robert Smollin Award (2001-2002). In addition to being an awesome bass and vocal percussionist, Clark has a great solo voice! Check out Babylon on Show N Tell!

To Clark (April 2002) - beautiful Babylon, Haynes My Way
I miss singing with you so much! I am so happy that I got to sing with you for 3 years of DJs. You always push yourself so effortlessly to keep things cool and organized, and you always work hard to be the amazing musician you are. I truly hope that you are able to fit music into your life somehow beyond U-M, as your talents have never ceased to amaze me and always leave me interested in hearing more!
