There are more pics, advertising and midi's that should be replaced from
time to time, and we all know that most updating like these takes more
than a minute. Besides there might be special requests, complains or
suggestions from PV citizens - tasks that 3 brains will solve a lot better
than Mayor Bille alone. Besides all this there will possibly be some
contact with other AW communities or active worlds on behalf of Pink
Village.
If you want to assist the PVC by taking care of one or more administrative
matters at least for a while, you are welcome to do so by notifying the PVC.
In the future there might be advertised services where your help is needed.
If you come up with new ideas they are welcome, too.
When it comes to building new stuff in PV the PVC has no obligation more than all of us. Please keep building nice houses, parks or whatever to make PV an exciting and alive community to stay in and to visit by our guests!
Diva Museum
One of the arenas along the route of the PV celebration was the Diva Museum. The museum is built and
administrated by OutLaw, PV citizen since April. Why a Diva Museum?
"I built it because I wanted to create a temple of worship for all those classic and campy women. If you
notice, most of them are all larger than life...very strong personalities, and quite unique."
The gallery is both of entertaining and educative character. By clicking some of the Divas' picture you'll hear
the Diva's voice. OutLaw is searching for more wav files for the Museum and suggestions are welcome.
"I'd really like to attach a wav file to Patty Duke as Neely O' Hara from "Valley of the Dolls". She is my
favourite, the campiest of all. I also hope to link each Diva to a web site devoted to each of their careers,
whenever time permits. That way, it will become a more educational experience....for those citizens who might not
be familiar with a particular Diva's career."
Most of the Divas are now dead or hardly acting anymore, but OutLaw will work on a new section. In the
future he will be adding some contemporary Divas as well, like Madonna, Sharon Stone, Streisand, and more.
After the Diva Museum is completed, will PV get a similar museum featuring male Divas?
"A male Diva museum? Well, perhaps a male Idol museum. I'm open for suggestions on that notion."
Finally, OutLaw reminds us of the theatre that is located behind the museum. There is a stage for any performer
and seats for the audience.
"I'd love to see a couple of PV citizens get up there and do some scenes form their favourite play or movie.
How many times can I get up there and type lines from "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" all by myself - for an
audience of one? Oh well...it amuses me."
Let's hope that all seats are taken the next time OutLaw or anyone else performs in the theatre. Announcements can be made - it's all up to you folks to grab this challenge!:o)
Pink Village celebration
The PV gathering May 24th did include events at Rainbow Garden, Pink Avenue, Pink Parade Night-club,
Cool Café, Diva Museum, Sky Forest and Dusk til Dawn Bar. There were two separate sections starting 11:00 and
23:00 GMT. Unfortunately the system was very slow for the first hour which made most of us feel like walking on
glue or something:)
Anyway, the new PV Council was presented at the opening, and afterwards the group went
playing at the Pink Avenue before there was dancing and more beers.
Eljay and Lacerta were introduced
At 23:00 the system was back to normal, and without knowing for sure, there was at least 12 people joining the
group. At the Diva Museum we discussed the divas, and Joan Crawford and Liz Taylor was among the most liked.
The group stacked together even at the men's room, must be a typical queer thing to do...
At Sky Forest Café, which also contents a large outdoor area, there were finally time for private chatting,
before the remains of the group went to Dusk til Dawn Bar for cyber beer number 20...:)
