(LIFEline groups are short-term support groups facilitated by pastors and
trained lay people to offer peer support around a particular issue.)
Recovering from Homophobic Religion: This group is designed to deal with the
emotional/spiritual aftermath of growing up in a religious environment in
which homosexuality was condemned. We examine the Bible in its historical and
social context. The class is free to anyone interested. Registration is
required as the group space is limited. If you are interested in learning more

Bereavement Group: This group provides a safe space for people to process
their issues around grief and loss of a loved one. We also have seminars
throughout the year on specific topics related to grief and loss. This group
is free and open to anyone interested. Registration is required as the group

Coming Out: This group explores issues related to telling your friends and
family about your sexual orientation. We discuss the practical aspects of
coming out as well as the emotional and spiritual impact that coming out has
on our lives and the lives of those we care about. This is a free group and
open to anyone interested. Registration is required as the group space is

(Circle of LIFE groups are ongoing groups that meet monthly. Circle of LIFE
groups, while offering significant support, also provide a meaningful social
outlet for people.)
Coping Through The Holidays Seminar: This annual seminar explores how those
who have experienced a significant loss can cope with the holidays. It is an
opportunity to evaluate one's support network and work on building support for
the holiday season. This is a free seminar and open to anyone interested. If

Generations Group: This is a young adult group that meets every Sunday for prayer and lunch. Special activities are also planned during different days of the month. If you are a GLBT young adult age 18 or up, please contact the church office and speak with Lora about more information or an updated event calendar for this group. Divorced Men's Group: We understand that no man should go through divorce or
separation alone. We welcome men from heterosexual marriages and long - term
gay relationships. We share our stories, our experiences, and our resources
with each other.
We offer a light of hope...to each other and to men in similar circumstances.
Registration is required for this class and space is limited. If you are

Married & Divorced Lesbians Group: We also understand that there is a need for
women who are divorced, or are currently in heterosexual marriages just
discovering their orientation as a lesbian, to relate with others in their
situation. This group has been designed to provide a safe place for women
married and/or divorced to talk about issues impacting their lives and the
best way for healing to take place in their lives. This is a free group and
open to anyone interested who fits the above description. Registration is

Breast Cancer Survivors & Partners Of Survivors Support Group: These groups
will provide emotional support to both BC survivors and their partners. We
will explore a number of issues related to breast cancer together. The class
is free and open to anyone whom this matter applies. Registration is required
as the group space is limited. If you are interested in learning more about

Equinox: This group is for GLBT people of color who are conscious of their
spiritual and religious life. This group focuses on nurturing all facets of
your identity. This group meets once a month. If you have any questions about

Centering Prayer: This group looks at prayer as a relationship with God. The
method of Centering Prayer as created by Fr. Thomas Keating is explained and
practiced. The goal of this group is to teach centering prayer and encourage
a daily prayer practice. There is no cost for joining this group and everyone
is welcome to participate. If you are interested in learning more about this

Rainbow Rascals: This group has been designed to provide a support system for
GLBT parents and also for their children. Parents and kids will meet once a
month at a pre - designated location to share in a time of fellowship,
learning and community. If you are a
mom or dad with a child between the ages of newborn and sixteen, you are
welcome. If you are a mom or dad needing community with other GLBT mom's and
dad's, you are welcome. If you are interested in learning more about this

Out N' About: This group is open to anyone and everyone that wants to get Out
N' About in public with "Family." This group will schedule a social event
monthly. If you are

fitness and activities.)
Join other folks through the spring and summer seasons for health wise and fun
activities in the great outdoors. In the year 2002 we had such groups as:

Whole L.I.F.E. Walking
Do you have an idea for a L.I.F.E. line group, a circle of L.I.F.E. group or a
whole L.I.F.E. group? Call Rev. Sue Yarber and let her know your idea...the
possibilities are endless when God, healing and community are the focus.

(You do not need to be a member or a regular attender of MCCGSL to attend
these classes or events. Although everyone needs to register for any class or
