Well, things have changed a bit of course. Since September 99 I've lived in Ventura CA. And since like January of 2000 I've been with a guy named Jess. But anyhoo... this page is about Backstreet. At least it's about the Backstreet I used to know. Enjoy!
I used to work at one of the gay clubs in Memphis, called Backstreet. It was so fucking cool, it's unbelievable! Just last Friday (the 25th of Sept. 98) Jennifer Star, the singer from Pure Sugar, was there! She sang one of her lesser-known songs and then the song Delicious! She was TOTAL Diva!
She was such a trip. She told me I shouldn't be bar-backing... I should move to New York and be doing serious hard-core drag with her friend, Candace Cane...
Then, on Saturday the 26th, we had Miss Anita Ward there... She put on one hell of a show... This woman was Classic Diva! ... For those of you who can't quite put a face to the name, she was the lady from the 70's who sang Ring My Bell...
Anyhoo... I guess if you've looked at the pictures of lil ol me, you know I sometimes do drag... Well, here are some more pix of me in drag... These were taken on Thursday the 24th of Sept. Here goes...
Here she is:
This is a picture of me that Star Queen took. She told me to spin around as she snapped the shot. She definitely knew what she was doing.
The lil thing I'm hugging on the left is our Door Girl, Chrissy. And the big Beautiful woman holding my leg up on the right is her girlfriend, Shannon. Shannon is our Bartendress at Backstreet.
This picture is of me and my dear friend, Kenny... I'd hoped something more than friendship would grow, but he's moving sometime between now and christmas... Oh well... Se a vida e... That's how life is...
This guy is my boss. The
These are three of the other girls at Backstreet... In the back beside me are (from left to right) Star Queen, and Alexis Spalding, and the Lady in front is Miss Beverly Hills.
This is my friend Jeff... Another guy I'd hope to start something with... But I've just decided I'm not the right guy for him... Once again, "Oh, well..."
And this lil cutey is my friend Steve. He works the store at Backstreet. I'm quite jealous of him. He's always attracting these Gorgeous men that I don't... Oh well...
Why Yess!!!
Shane wanted me to do Ray of light in front of the new digital video screen he installed on the stage... So, just for him I did it... I didn't make a single tip off of that song, (guess the guys were too scared to walk up to the stage), but after it was over, Shane came up to me and said, "Girl, that was flawless!"
What do you know?? I finally did something that pleased him!
Now I just have to start doing the windows and toilets better...
