Angels are the secretive and celestial creatures whose origins and motives remain hidden. Most angel races seem to be obsessed with fending off any who would attack their realms. Angels are one of the more mysterious races. They are split up into different choirs.

Cherubim - The Guarding Choir: Cherubim are the all male guardians of heaven and earth. They are renowned for having four faces; a man's, a lion's, an eagle's, and a bull's, as well as the wings which most angels possess. The Cherubim are scarce on the mortal realm, but are known for guarding the gates to Eden and several other places which are very important to them. The Cherubim are extremely powerful, usually carrying swords with blades of fire and enchant to destroy their enemies. However, the Cherubim only use their power when their protectorate is threatened. They usually guard places, not people, and are never in open combat.

Seraphim - The Warrior Choir: The Seraphim are one of the most mysterious creatures in the world, because none have ever seen them and lived to tell about it. This is because seeing a Seraphim, in its full glory, releases your soul unto heaven. Seraphim do interact with humans, however, in other forms. Seraphim war against the demons of Hell, and armies of them dwell within the heavens. The Seraphim also protect humanity from hellish fiends, but do so in subtle ways so as not to betray their existence. They do guard people, and kill demonic foes on sight. A famous example of a Seraphim is Michael, who achieved the rank of Arch-Angel in the first war time ever witnessed.

* Metuim - The Fallen Choir: The Metuim are feared by all, and with good reason. These femme fatales believed that, since they were the first created, angels should have dominance over mortals, and not serve them. Of course they were refused, and left the Heavens to pursue their agendas on the mortal plain. The Metuim are easy to distinguish by the wings extending from the back of their heads, and the feathers they adorn themselves with, not to mention the odd blond hair frosted with green. The Metuim seduce mortals into submission, and if they are denied, then they kill, usually with their bare hands.

Mordorim - The Reaping Choir: The Mordorim are the Angels of Death. They are sent in a non-corporeal form only seen by those they wish to be seen by, and their mission seems to be to guide the dying to a peaceful death, and take their souls to wherever they're going. In their natural form, the Mordorim are usually clothed in dark, with silver, feathery wings extending from their backs. Although greatly feared, they are truly noble and compassionate, wishing only that the dead are comfortable when they die.

Nephilim - The Watching Choir: Nephilim are entirely female. They are the daughters of Seraphim and mortal women, who, when born, are usually deformed or crippled in some way, and, although in mortal body, have angelic souls. The Nephilim sometimes go through life unwary of their true fathers, and sometimes mysteriously possess that knowledge from birth. They are also called the Watchers, for they observe humanity's ways in their time on Earth. Legend has it that these angelic souls are great in power, and demons seek them, and so the Seraphim fathers of the Nephilim seek them out and bring them back to Heaven, simply by showing themselves to their daughters. The Nephilim can possess great power, if the right spells and circumstances are invoked.

* Tyrannim - The Vain Choir: These angels, the Tyrannim, left the choir of the Librariim when they thought themselves to be more beautiful than any other creature. The Tyrannim gathered a following of humans and other mortal creatures to worship them. They built for themselves massive cathedrals of glass and mirror. The Tyrannim are vain and self-absorbed, and don't care that they’ve been stripped of their angelic powers (some believe that they still haven't noticed. It's only been 15 000 years, after all). Although for the most part simply a nuisance, the Tyrannim may walk down the path of vanity a little too far, and take out any foes who disagree with their substantial following.

* Horadrim - The Mortal Choir: While not specifically classified as angels, the Horadrim still are close enough. In ancient times, with great wars between heaven and hell, Seraphim granted a select cabal of mages great powers and insight. These were called the Horadrim. They battled demons that the Seraphim could not reach. Descendants of these still exist today, with the same great power and enlightenment.

** Lunarim - The Night Choir: Another choir of angels who aren't in league with most others are the Lunarim. They left some time after the Metuim and the Cherubim went their separate ways. The Lunarim was at one point part of the Mordorim, but power and corruption overcame them and they began to barter with souls like it was commonplace merchandise. Luckily, before any of these heinous trades were carried out, they were found out and banished from Heaven forever. The Lunarim then began to research endlessly to unlock the secrets of souls and minds, so they could ransom the souls of the world to get back into Heaven. They are distinguished by black wings, black feathers for hair, and usually followed by ravens or crows.

Librariim - The Messaging Choir: The Librariim are the most renowned versions of angels. They appear as simply human beings with great wings sprouting from their backs. The Librariim are so well known because of their frequency on Earth. They are the messengers, but their powers are not only limited to a message. The Librariim can sometimes grant humans great powers in order to carry out the messages. The Librariim were sometimes used by righteous men to carry news from one to the other. They also possess the power of enlightenment, and some say they are omniscient, but they refuse to confirm that.
