United (Episode 89)

First Airdate: February 4, 2005

Summary: Archer tries to unify the Andorians, Tellarites and Vulcans in a plan to capture a marauder ship threatening to destabilize the region.

Archer then forges an alliance among Andorians, Tellarites and Vulcans to accomplish this and track down the marauder — an alliance which proves very tenuous when Shran challenges a Tellarite to a duel. Also at stake are the lives of Trip Tucker and Malcolm Reed, who in the previous episode got trapped on the rogue ship when Enterprise first encountered it and it suddenly fled. The two officers are stuck in a section of the vessel without life support, and they have to match wits with an unseen enemy in order to survive (the unseen enemy, of course, being those pesky Romulans). (Star Trek Com)

(TV Guide) A desire for vengeance interferes with Archer's attempts to ally Shran and the Tellarites as Trip and Reed probe the inner workings of an unmanned warship.

(Zap2it) Trapped on a remote-controlled Romulan ship, Trip and Malcolm must outwit their captors to escape.

12.06.2004 Production Report: First Visit to Icy Andoria in "The Aenar" (Update) "The Aenar" (pronounced "EE-nar") refers to a subspecies on Andoria, one that lives underground in the arctic wastelands, isolated from the rest of their world. Though this segment concludes a three-part arc, there is a startling twist ending that will have important consequences in upcoming shows. (Star Trek Com)

First Airdate: February 18, 2005

Second Airdate: ?

Summary: While Enterprise visits Earth for the launch of Columbia, Phlox is kidnapped and forced to help the Klingons deal with a grave threat toward their species.

It's probably the single most popular topic of conversation among Star Trek fans: Why do Klingons look different during Captain Kirk's day than all the times after and before? What happened to their forehead ridges during that period?

The 15th episode of Season 4 of Star Trek: Enterprise will begin to address that issue. (Star Trek Com)

(TV Guide) As Trip prepares the Columbia, Enterprise's sister vessel, for its maiden voyage, Phlox is shanghaied by alien kidnappers, who require his skills to kill a mutated virus.

(Zap2it) Trip begins his new assignment aboard the Enterprise's companion ship; Klingons capture Phlox and force him to help them find a cure for a virus that threatens their race.

Synopsis: After Archer forges a deal with the Orions, the trader presents the captain with a gift -- three alluring Orion women who proceed to seduce all the men on board except, mysteriously, Trip. (Star Trek Com)

01.24.2005
Production Report: Orion Slave Girls "Bound" for Glory

Enterprise is approached by an Orion trader named Harrad-Sar with a proposal that could smooth relations between the Orion Syndicate and Starfleet. He offers to give Archer coordinates to a planet rich in a valuable mineral if Starfleet will build mining facilities there and cut him in for a percentage. To celebrate the transaction, Harrad-Sar insists that Archer accept a special gift: three Orion Slave Girls. Once they come aboard Enterprise, the Orion females' renowned allure starts having effects on the crew. (Star Trek Com)

(TV Guide) To seal a pact, an Orion pirate persuades Archer to accept a gift of three slave women. But the captain's good-faith gesture has bad results when the trio wreaks havoc within the ship.

In a Mirror, Darkly, Part 1 (Episode 94)

First Airdate: April 22, 2005

Second Airdate: ?

Summary: In the mirror universe, Commander Archer mutinies against Captain Forrest in order to capture a future Earth ship found in Tholian space. (Star Trek Com)

In "Part I," Commander Archer has gained information that a ship has been found in Tholian space that would give the Terran Empire a distinct tactical advantage over an interstellar rebellion. Archer tries to convince Captain Forrest to skip a rendezvous with the rest of the fleet and go in pursuit, but he refuses. So the ruthless Archer stages a mutiny and takes over Enterprise. It turns out the mysterious ship is an Earth vessel, from 100 years in the future.

(TV Guide) A two-part storyline inspired by a pair of classic Star Trek episodes opens with an evil Cdr. Archer launching a mutiny. "Mirror, Mirror" and "The Tholian Web" provide the template for this alternate-universe tale set aboard the Terran Empire's Enterprise, where murder and treachery reign. After ousting his superior, Archer plots to ransack a drifting Earth starship--whose dead crew wear uniforms from Capt. Kirk's era--for its advanced technology. But his avarice leads to a run-in with the Tholians, who seek to entangle the Enterprise in a deadly trap.

(Zap2it) In a dark alternate universe, an amoral, imperialistic version of the Enterprise crew makes an astonishing discovery during a mission into enemy alien territory.

Directed by: James L. Conway

Guest Cast
Vaughn Armstrong as Captain Maxwell Forrest
Gary Graham as Vulcan Ambassador Soval

In a Mirror, Darkly, Part 2 (Episode 95)

First Airdate: April 29, 2005

Second Airdate: ?

Summary: In the mirror universe, Archer commandeers the 23rd-century Defiant from the Tholians and uses it in a nefarious power grab. (Star Trek Com)

In the story [final spoiler warning!!], most of the principal characters have beamed over to the Defiant in EV (extra-vehicular or environmental) suits. Subsequently the Tholians use their web-making capabilities to destroy the mirror NX-01. That leaves Archer, T'Pol, Tucker, Reed and Mayweather on the other ship in their grey EV undersuits. So once they take up residence, they go through the original crew's wardrobe and don their uniforms.

That put Connor Trinneer, Dominic Keating and Anthony Montgomery in the classic-style red shirts (knowing they're doomed if they ever go on an away mission!), and Scott Bakula got to wear the green wraparound tunic like that worn by Captain Kirk in several episodes including "The Trouble with Tribbles" and "The Doomsday Machine." Jolene Blalock took on the science-blue miniskirt, like what Christine Chapel wore.

Linda Park as mirror-Hoshi remained in her bare-midriff blue jumpsuit (though as the captain's woman she's also seen several times in slinky lingerie), and John Billingsley as the evil Phlox continued to wear a thick black leather costume.

Demons (Episode 96)

First Airdate: May 6, 2005

Second Airdate: ?

Summary: A xenophobic faction of humanity threatens to undermine talks to form a new coalition of planets. (Star Trek Com)

02.18.2005 Production Report: Peter Weller Stars in "Demons" (Update)

The title of the episode "refers to our own personal demons. Humanity is having one last hurdle to overcome in forming the Federation; in fact we find that the last hurdle isn't going to come from Romulans, it isn't going to come from Klingons, it comes from our own last vestiges of intolerance. There is a charismatic leader on Earth who is opposed to the forming of the Federation — who is a student of history and is taking his lessons from Colonel Green.

(TV Guide)

(Zap2it) While on Earth for a historic Starfleet conference, Archer and the crew uncover a plot by a radical group of humans opposed to the increasing number and influence of aliens on Earth.

Terra Prime (Episode 97)

First Airdate: May 13, 2005

Second Airdate: ?

Summary: A human isolationist leader threatens to destroy Starfleet Command unless all aliens leave Earth immediately. (Star Trek Com)

The episode title, "Terra Prime," refers to the human isolationist movement which Weller's character, John Frederick Paxton, leads from his lunar mining colony. Picking up where "Demons" left off (related production report), Paxton has moved his Orpheus mining complex — which, it turns out, is detachable and has warp drive — from the Moon to Mars, where he has tied his reactor into the "verteron array" there. That array is a huge row of particle cannons used to redirect comets for terraforming purposes, but Paxton has turned it into a formidable weapon against any target in the solar system. He lays down an ultimatum: all non-humans must leave the system within 24 hours, or Terra Prime will "defend the rights of every human." And he'll start by destroying Starfleet Command in San Francisco with a verteron beam. Enterprise is vulnerable also, so Archer, Reed and Mayweather devise a plan to infiltrate the complex undetected, that involves using a comet as camouflage. Complicating things is a potential Terra Prime operative aboard Enterprise.

There are "scenes where Archer and company hitch a ride to Mars on a comet."

"The episode depicts a baby with Vulcan ears."

(TV Guide) Determined to scorch San Francisco if Earth refuses to abolish a proposed interplanetary alliance, Paxton (Peter Weller) blackmails Trip into modifying a doomsday weapon, while Archer and a handpicked team attempt to infiltrate Terra Prime's Mars headquarters. Elsewhere, the origin of Trip and T'Pol's child is revealed, and Hoshi takes command of Enterprise as a traitor lurks within the crew.

(Zap2it) Archer and his crew must stop Paxton (Peter Weller), a well-armed, radical human isolationist who threatens to destroy Starfleet Command unless all aliens leave Earth immediately.

03.10.2005 Production Report: Final Enterprise Episode Wraps

We are keeping mum on story details right now, but Frakes and Sirtis are indeed playing their Next Generation personas Riker and Troi. As co-executive producer Manny Coto mentioned in a recent interview, the finale does not involve time travel — the most we'll tell you here is that it does involve the Holodeck.

Throughout the eight days of shooting, Frakes was at various points dressed in a TNG-era uniform; as an NX-01 crewman; as a MACO; and ... as one other person who perhaps should remain a surprise.

(TV Guide) After four years of seeking out new worlds, the crew reaches the end of a long road in an affecting finale that explores its legacy. Next Generation's Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis play pivotal roles in the story, set 200 years after Archer's era. To deal with a personal crisis, Cdr. Riker (Frakes) uses the holodeck to relive Enterprise's final voyage---six years after the antialien revolt. During that trip, Archer detours from his route to the first Federation conference to save an old ally's kidnapped daughter---a mission that ends in tragedy for the crew.

(Zap2it) Archer and the crew return to Earth to face the decommissioning of the Enterprise and the signing of the Federation charter, ratifying the newly formed alliance of planets, which they helped forge.

MY OPINION

I could scream--this was so badly done!
Trip was so out of character--since when does he become the mother hen toward Archer and not toward T'Pol?
What "Man" would let six years go by with no commitment to the one he loves?
What of T'Pol's Pon Far--would she never have had a child in her lifetime?
This has a Peter Pan "Neverland" ending where no one ever grows up--Yuk--more a reflection on the writers of this episode!
So much was contrived and made the actors actions unbelievable.

WON'T BUY THIS DVD SERIES

THE END!
