The SSD is organized in the fashion of a military outfit and has a total of six departments including Administration, Intelligence and Security, Operations, Logistics, Communications and Engineering. The Division is directed by a command group of senior officers. In addition, a number of auxiliary staff are employed by the SSD including a Diplomatic Attachment. The SSD fleet is made up of two squadrons or task forces, with a combined total of thirteen ships.
