Because of the five million dollar bounty on his head for murder, Spider-Man has been forced to abandon his costumed identity and seek a new one. He went to inventor and friend Hobie Brown (The Prowler) who helped him craft a new costume and name: The Hornet!
The first villain found was the Looter, trying to rob the five million dollars bounty for a safe in the Daily Beagle building. After defeating the larcenous Looter in his initial outing, the Hornet gave an interview stating: "I don't think you'll have to worry about Spider-Man from now on."
Spidey's enemy, the vile Vulture, saw the interview on television, misinterpreting it to mean that the Hornet that somehow eliminated Spider-Man for the scene permanently.
The high-flying fiend seeks the destruction of the Hornet for robbing him of his sworn vengeange on the webspinner.

Anable to continue beeing Spider-Man, Peter Parker assumed a new identity: Ricochet!
As the newest hero in town, Ricochet encountered the deadly Delilah and, after a brutal struggle in the top of the buildings, jointed forces with her in the quest for vengeance against the Black Tarantula, who recently crushed her in battle.
Meanwhile, the Black Tarantula has met with two other top criminal lords, Fortunato and the Rose, to decide how New York would be divided among them.
Peter Parker Spider-Man # 90 / Peter Parker Dusk # 1

Peter Parker realized he could no longer be an effective crimefighter as the webspinner, wanted for murder. Thus, he assumed the alternate identity of the shadowy Dusk.
Dusk believe it was the Trapster who committed the murder Spidey was being framed for, and so Dusk sought him out to find some way to make him admit the murder.
Just as the ebony avenger (Dusk) reached his intended target, the Shocker appeared, having been hired to eliminate te Trapster by Norman Osborn, who put the Trapster up to the murder of Joey Z initially.
But Dusk saved the Trapster from death at Shocker's vibrating hands, and thus put the criminal in his debt.

Peter Parker accepted that he can no longer be the Spider-Man, so he took on a new costumed identity: Prodigy!
The newest hero in town soon became involved with a new villain called Conundrum and his connection with the kidnapping of the Sulfidian Ambassador's daughter, Tabriaz.
Seeking out the child, Prodigy went to a shut down restaurant downtown to confront the fiend who committed the kidnapping.
But upon arriving, Prodigy find himself face to face with his old enemy, Jack O'Lantern and his new foe, Conundrum, but of whom appear to be almost twenty feet tall! This look like to be a job for the Man of Might.
