Spider-Man Issues from July, 1998

The Sensational Spider-Man # 29

Story: Todd Dezago with Andy Zefowicz, Art: Roberto Flores & Juan Viasco + Tom Lyle & Robert Jones
SESP#29 Spider-Man crossed paths with the Black Cat, who was investigating a runawy teenager through her detective agency.

Aiding Spidey was reporter Ben Urich, who Peter called, and who made a connection between the missing teenager and the recent desappearence of certain drug dealers from the same area.

Hitching up with Black Cat again, and warned by Mary jane that the Cat was his girlfriend and she is his wife, Spidey attempted to locate the missing persons, only to fall prey of the malevolent master of Murderworld - Arcade!

The Amazing Spider-Man # 436

Writer: Tom DeFalco, Pencil: Joe Bennet, Ink: Bud LaRosa
Spider-man and MJ discovered that the Mary Jane's friend, Marina, is a brazilian and was married with the Black Tarantula. She had escaped with their son to the United States. The Tarantula was stalking her in order to recover his child. She went to the Don Fortunato's estate, trying to refuge from his ex-husband. Before her arrival, the Rose was unmasked by the old crimelord, and he is Jake Conover, a Daily Beagle employee.

The identity crisis had concluded, but not the troubles of our harried hero. In a live-or-die struggle on the estate of the crimelord Don Fortunato, Spider-Man fought the evil Black Tarantula, a powerful south american super-human criminal.

When the struggle was in a standstill, Marina discussed with the Tarantula about the rights and the will of their son. This make him wonder and go away, leaving them free, for this time.

Peter Parker Spider-Man # 93

PPSM#93 From the very depths of the netherworld comes a terrifying, flame heading creature. A being mortals have come to know as the Ghost Rider! And when he appears, death and destruction ride in his wake. It's time for the return of the Spirit of Vengeance.

The Ghost Rider was burning all in his way to Manhattan. Spidey help to save people from burning buildings and try to stop him. For his surprise, he discovers that the Rider was going to capture some terrorists that intent to detonate a bomb and blow up a chunk of Manhattan.

Now, with the identity crisis and Spiderhunt behind him, Spider turned his attention to discovering the real identity of the man whose murder was used to frame him, Joey Z.

At the same time, friend of the Parkers, Jill Stacy, became obsessed with Joey Z, believing she could learn more about the connection between Spider-Man and her cousin Gwen's death by investigating the life of this small time thug the wall-crawling had once been accused of killing.

The Spetacular Spider-Man # 259 (Goblins at the Gate - Part 1)

Story: Roger Stern & Glenn Greenberg, Pencil: Luke Ross, Inks: Al Milgrom
Norman Osborn's public relations campaign to reestabilish his reputation continue in full swing with the release of his book: Survivor Of The Big Lie. In it, Norman detailed how he was not, nor could have been the evil Green Goblin.

But the incarcereted Hobgoblin, Roderick Kingsley, sent word out from the jail that he was in possession of one of Osborn's journals that proved conclusively Osborn was the Green Goblin.

Learning this, the Green Goblin has come to take Kingsley from prison forcibly. Peter Parker was observing the prison in company of Betty Brant, in order to get news about the Hobgoblin to the Daily Beagle. As Spider-man, he tried to avoid Hobgoblin to escape, but was not able to win the battle with the Green Goblin, falling form his aerial machine. His worst enemy fled away, carrying Kingsley like a potatoes' bag.

Finaly, a surprised Roderick Kingsley saw himself face to face with Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin, both together and really two distinct persons.

It's a big surprise! Hobgoblin in his civil identity meet Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin together, as two different persons. What is the meaning of this? Is Norman cheating or is it reality? Is not Norman the Green Goblin anymore?
