My basic statistics:

My name is Melissa Birkholz (nee: Caswell) and I was born in Belvidere, Illinois, U.S.A. If you really MUST know my birth date.....I was born September 5, 1967. I'm blonde-haired, blue-eyed and fair-skined. (I sunburn beautifully). I'm also 5 feet 1-1/2 inches tall, 125 pounds. (My husband says dynamite comes in small packages....) Currently I live in west-central Minnesota, U.S.A., with one husband and three sons. (You can see their handsome pictures below). My ancestry is approximately 7/8 "European" and 1/8 "Native American" (Sioux and Cherokee mix). When I was a child my family moved around a lot, so I have lived in various parts of the U.S. I have a B.S. degree in art education from Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska. In the past I've been a hospital candy striper, a clerk-typist in the South Dakota Army National Guard, the owner of a licensed day care, and a Cub Scout Den Leader. In 1996, I helped design the original web page for the city of Rushville, Nebraska. My current occupations are being a wife, mother, homemaker, and substitute teacher. I serve on my community library’s Board of Trustees. I'm also the Primary President in the Sisseton, SD branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the LDS Church).

The Deep Stuff:

Melissa
Birkholz again

Like, what makes me tick? Weeelll... Hmmm....That depends on how many of my deep, dark secrets I want to tell you...

Actually I'm quiet and contemplative. I like to keep growing, trying to become a better person.

I have a variety of interests and likes. Hey, could that be why I have such a diverse web page? My top hobbies are painting and genealogy. I exercise, garden, read, fish, camp, and listen to a wide variety of music. I like: having fun with my kids; cuddling with my husband; visiting my sister; animals (especially my feline friend Princess); getting a painting just right; the moment when an idea clicks in a child's head; colorful fragrant flower gardens; orange juice; herbal teas; Charlton Heston and Harrison Ford movies; the serene Black Hills of South Dakota; scenic vistas; dipping my bare feet in a cool clear stream; warm summer days and cool summer nights.......to mention just a few.
