Educational Software Reviews on the Web

Below are some places to find out what others thought of various software titles before you buy them. Some are professional reviewers sites & others are message boards where you can post & get the pros & cons from people who have already purchased &/or used the software. You can also post messages on any of the regular message boards.

All Star Review provide accurate software reviews as well as other product reviews.

Children's Software Review is a bimonthly magazine that reviews software. There is an online searchable database so that you can check reviews of various titles. You can also add your own reviews to the database.

The ComputED Gazette lists award winning titles & has several articles of interest.

Cyber News and Reviews is a monthly column by Howard Berenbon, developed to offer information on some of the best computer products available covering business, education and entertainment software and hardware.

The Family Education Network has software reviews. Just choose the Learning Tools link & then choose the software tab.

Learningvillage.com is a great place to find out whther or not a particular piece of software is for your family. There are lots of guides broken down by topic, as well as articles & a newsletter to let you know when new reviews are added.

LearningWare Reviews is an e-mail newsletter. You can sign up here, as well as check out some of the reviews.

Pep Directory of Resources & Services has reviews, tips for setting up a computer especially for kids, listings of various vendors, & more.

The Schoolhouse Review offers reviews of various educational software reviews broken down by subject for all ages.

Superkids Educational Software Review is updated monthly. You can look through the current issue or do a search of all the reviews looking for a particular title. They also have a search engine which does price comparisons for you of various web based vendors.

ParentsPlace.com This area is a special treat. It is aimed at all parenting issues. It has a software reviews message board, homeschool message board, a homeschool chat ! If you register for the message boards, they will let you know when there is a response to your message via e-mail. You MUST register with the board to use the chats.

Parent's Soup is a site aimed at families. They DO have a Computers & Software message board, a Homeschooling message board & IRC chats. To access any of these, you must join Parent's Place. Simply fill out Join Parent Soup & fill in your name, a nickname, your e-mail address, & a password. You nickname is the name you will be known as in the discussion groups & IRC chats. Then choose discussion group & scroll down to Education & choose the Homeschooling Topic.

PEP - Parents, Educators, Publishers is a very informative website. There is a special section of reviews of educational software titles here.
