I entered the University of Hong
Kong in 1990 after leaving U6ScA of St. Paul's. I majored in Computer Engineering and
minored in 'K. L.'. After graduating from HKU, I joined KCRC (Kowloon-Canton Railway
Corporation) as Graduate Trainee and was promoted to a position of Engineer after
accomplishment of the 2-year training programme. My main duty is project management. One
of the projects that I was involved is the Octopus System - the contactless smart card
system for all transportation companies in H.K. Now, I am responsible for the design of
the Automatic Revenue Collection system of the East Rail Extensions (includes the Ma On
Shan Rail, the Tsim Sha Tsui Extension and the Lok Ma Chau Extension). I am still playing
soccer in my spare time and
pursuing an MSc degree at Polytechnic University. |

Went to Electronic Engineering in
Chinese University after a year of Lower Six in SPCC. Had a great time there (and great
suffering too!). Met a bunch of good friends including my first girlfriend in the
Christian Fellowship. It seems that the course of my life changed (became clearer) there:
closer to God. Went to Purdue University in the U.S. for Master in EE. Had even greater
time there! God treats me so well! Met great people in the church. Travelled around and
enjoy the nature. Wanted to do robotics. Went to Boston in hope of finding a job. After 8
month without a paid job, went back to Hong Kong. Better future was ahead. Met my second
girlfriend (an old friend from CU actually) with whom I am until this day (and probably
for the rest of our lives). Employed as an electronics engineer in ASM Assembly Automation
Ltd., one of the few companies who invested seriously in R&D. I'm quite happy about my
job. Have no plan of marrying within a couple of years (have no plan of starting another
relationship either). I'm serving the Lord in my church: Kowloon Methodist Church. I'm
conducting Bible study group for those who are interested in Christianity and those who
want to know more about Jesus Christ. I enjoy reading, movies, music, concerts, fine food
and company of friends. It reads like a self-introduction but as I'm in a hurry and I want
to tell you guys almost everything God has directed me through these year, please forgive
me for not able to write in a more personal tone. It's seems natural because it's not a
personal communication. Well, I'm sure we'll have a happy time if we can talk or exchange
ideas in a person to person basis. : ) |

I left SPCC after form 4 and
finished my high school education in Toronto. (Weldon Liu and Yee-Kwan Lam of '89
also studied there.) Then I went to McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and got myself
a B.Arts Sc. (Hon.), doing mostly economics. I decided to do a combined law/MBA degree
next and was happy to be accepted into Osgoode Hall Law School/Business School of York
University in Toronto. I started with law in first year and was once again schoolmate with
Cedric Lam Gar Chung at Osgoode. After first year I decided law was quite enough for me to
handle at a time and I dropped the MBA. During the last term of second year, I met my
other half, Alfred, who was one year senior to me (hee hee so I got more out of law school
than just the law). After law school, it was the usual -- articling, taking bar admission
exams, etc. I was called to the Bar of Ontario in Feb 1998. I got married in May 1998 in
Toronto and was overjoyed to have many SPCC friends attend my wedding. Thanks again and
again to all those who so generously offered their assistance (I won't list them in case I
miss out any) and those who attended, especially Vivian Lam who flew from San Jose just to
attend my wedding. I'm forever grateful to you all. Thank you also to SPCC friends who
attended my wedding reception in Hong Kong in July.
Right now I'm working in Hong Kong, as a paralegal/foreign lawyer/trainee in a law firm
until I can take the Foreign Lawyers' Qualification Exam and be admitted as a solicitor in
Hong Kong. Hopefully that day will come soon. |

I am currently residing in HK after
going through 5 years in the University of Melbourne doing a Bachelor of Commerce and a
Bachelor of Laws. I then worked in a law firm in Melbourne for nearly two years before I
made my move to Hong Kong right before the handover. Currently, I am in Hong Kong by
myself while my whole family is still back in Melbourne. Most interesting experience in
the last 10 years is working as a part-time disc jockey / radio propramme producer
in Melbourne for 4 years. |
