Hong Kong |
I left SPCC in 1985 (end of Form 2E) and migrated to Sydney, Australia with my family. After my High School Certificate, I entered University of Sydney in 1989 for my 5-year dental training. After graduation in 1994, I worked in Westmead Hospital as a dental officer while taking the Hong Kong Dental Registration Exams.
I came back to work in Hong Kong in August 1996 as a part-time dentist associate in a private dental practice in Central and as a part-time oral health consultant in the Hong Kong Dental Association for about 6 months to help promote oral health. I worked with newspapers, magazines, radio & TV reporters to do interviews & oral health articles to promote various
aspects of Dentistry. I was also the dentist on-line serving the HKDA Homepage "Ask a Dentist" section.
In early 1997, I joined Bayley & Jackson Dental Surgeon Ltd. as a full-time dentist and once worked together with Dr. Yu Wai Man, Winnie (who is also from SPCC88) in the same clinic.
At the end of 1997, I managed to open my own dental surgery in Central. Up to now, I have treated several of the SPCC88 schoolmates as my patients.
Then on 28th Nov 1998, I got married to a guy called Henry Sit who is also a dentist but working in the government dental clinic.
I am still getting in touch with several of our old schoolmates
including Kanjanapas Nga-Fong, Koo Kar-Yan and Dawn Ai.

After spending 11 years at SPCC, I
went to UK to continue my studies. I did my A-levels at Rugby, England and then med school
at Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow is such a nice place and I get to know possiblly the
friendliest people in the world, the Scots. Haggis, Loch Lommond, Celiah ...... . 2 years
ago I came back to HK for good. I am now working at the Prince of Wales Hospital in
Shatin, practising ophthalmology, in other words working on patients' eyes, yes eyes. Even
being away for 8 years, I settle down quite well here and best of all, start hanging out
my old schoolmates, Trevor Lee, Samuel Ho, Raymond Cheng, Arthur Ng, Eric Fung. |

Since graduation 4 years ago, my
life has been pretty stable. I've stayed in HK since then, and worked on the same project
in one company, Springfield Financial Advisory Ltd.. (Thanks to Lee Chi Wai's introduction
to this decent computer job in HK.) With other team members, I've developed the software
project from its earliest stage up to the launching (birth) stage. I will see how it rolls
out in the year 1999 before deciding on my next move... At the same time, I join the
North Point Alliance Church (Big5: ¥_¨¤«Å¹D·|) here in HK.
I often meet Yu King Chung in the Sat. afternoon Elijah fellowship and Sun. morning
service. If you would to visit us, feel free to contact one of us. We will be having a
meeting this X'mas eve at church, it may be a good place to start with. |

I'm now in Hong Kong, still living
with my family. I got a job in TVB in Jan 94, and I'm still working there. My current
title is "Senior Programme Officer". But my job has nothing to deal with
computer programming. My major responsibilities is to purchase foreign TV programmes to
broadcast in TVB Jade Channel, such as animation, Japanese drama, and documentary. Sounds
interesting, doesn't it? For your information, I'm still single. The most interesting
experience in last 10 years was my journey to the Silk Road in the summer of 1993. The
journey started in June after my graduation, which last for three months. Due to the
phobia towards air-travelling in mainland China, I only went on trains or overnight buses.
I reached the border between China & Russia, and visited many large cities in
Xinjiang, Sichuan, Yunan, Shanxi, etc. It was a terrific experience. But the most
important implication for me is that, I really feel that I love this country, and I'm
proud of being a Chinese, which I have never learn from anywhere before.
I don't use to have "Long-term Goal" anyhow. I'm still enjoying my life, my
job, and my studies (I am studying Japanese, though it is already my forth year, I don't
think I am doing a good job.) My job doesn't let me generate a lot of wealth (recently
there is a cut in salary in TVB, those who read the news in Hong Kong may hear that),
however, I'm quite satisfied now. I am definitely sure that I would have other
"goals" in the future, but I'm still waiting for new inspirations and
motivations. |
