Listed in 1860 Blount Co., AL, census as "John M., 1, GA"

In 1886 when John Madison was 27, he married Kansas Missouri Gunter, in Saline Co., AR. Born on 26 September 1870 in AL. Kansas Missouri died in Saline Co., AR, on 17 March 1917; she was 46.

...my great-grandmother, Nancy. Elijah, Jr's daughter, Nancy, married Charles Davenport in Saline Co., AR. on June 13, 1878. The marriage book (Saline Co. marriages, book "D", page 262) lists her as Nancy E. M. Buckelew. They had three children,
Raymond Lafayette (my grandfather), Ethel Vivian, and Marcus Virgil.
My aunt's records show that Elijah's wife was Leodice Victoria
Harkins, although she is listed in the 1880 Saline Co. (Fairplay Township) census as Leudica.
The Buckelew presence in Saline Co. persisted beyond Elijah's and Leodice's deaths. My aunt tells me that when her family moved back to Saline Co. from Benton Co. around 1934, that they stayed with some Buckelews for a short time before they moved onto their own place...
