A Baptist preacher who "rode horeback to his parishes. He was paid in apples, chickens, sorgum, pigs, etc. So they ate well. Ha. (He) My grand-dad did look indian like, with blue eyes and leathery skin. Stocky built.Quiet, made his few words count. Gentle kind."

"...moved to Houston, Arkansas around 1895 with the Edmondsons, his in-laws. Samues was an itinerant Baptist minister and traveled by horseback to the various churches where he preached. They moved to Plainview, Ark. where he tried blacksmith work and even operated a hotel..." After Frances' death, Sam "...moved to Naylor, AR, married Lee Anna Gabbard."
