Management My management experience dates all the way back to my Navy years. I was the supervisor of my own mobile radio shop the last two years I was in the Navy. I have been required to manage people or processes in most every position I have had since leaving the Navy in 1990. I am a manager with the following traits:
Here are my management positions and some of their responsibilities in chronological order. As the Director of Sales Engineering for helloNetwork, I was responsible for
managing the pre and post sales processes required to sell streaming media solutions. I created the sales engineering department and all
sales engineering processes. This included
the creation of FAQ, white paper and proposal documents.
I had one sales engineer in the department and we supported 12 sales people across
the As the Director of Sales Engineering for Vast
Solutions, I was responsible for managing the pre sales processes required to sell
application development services. I created
the sales engineering department and all sales engineering processes.
This included the creation of proposals,
requirement and statement of work documents. I
managed a staff of 5 sales engineers as well as a
support staff comprised of technical writers and administrative personnel to support 10 sales people across the As the Director of National Accounts for PageNet, I was responsible for managing corporate accounts for all Fortune 500 companies. This list included companies like Sprint, MCI, AT&T, Prudential and Wal-Mart to name a few. Overall my team supported more than 100 accounts as well as all of the local PageNet offices use of Nationwide services. I managed a group of 3 account representatives as well as 5 customer service representatives. I worked cross functionally with the 3 divisions of the National Accounts Department numbering more than 500 employees. I was also responsible for traveling to local offices and training PageNet personnel on all new wireless technology. As the Northern California Switching Manager for
PageNet, I was responsible for managing a paging system consisting of 18 network switches. This system supported over 700,000 customers in As the San Jose System Manager for PageNet, I was responsible for managing a paging system consisting of 3 network switches and over 50 paging transmitters. I also managed 4 technicians and was responsible to manage a 2M dollar budget. As the Manager Repair and Return for Digital Microwave Corporation
(DMC),
I was responsible for the repair of all returned equipment to the company.
I had 12 technicians working for me. I reduced the back order inventory from 3000 units
to 300 units by creating a repair and return process designed to streamline the service
procedures ensuring maximum efficiency and increasing productivity. As the Production Line Manager at DMC, I was responsible for the manufacturing, testing and shipment of the 23 GHz product line. I supervised over 20 people on two shifts. I was promoted to this position after working at DMC for less than 5 months. See manufacturing for a more complete description of these activities. |
