"the final say… hip, hip hooray"

Pluto lies at the edge of our system and therefore, horoscopically, rules finality - the final closing of chapters in every dancer's life, the passing of major milestones and points of development from which there is no return; the final wipe-out - an evacuation.

Pluto is the far-off, subtle but powerful catalyst in all major changes that occur. Pluto creates, destroys, then recreates. At times Pluto begins its control and influence in minor, unnoticeable doses. Slowly but surely, imperceptible, everything changes, until at last there has been a total transformation in the area of every dancer's life where Pluto presides. Like the metamorphoses of the caterpillar to butterfly, or a dancer's progress from the raw, uncoordinated, mechanical beginnings to the polished advanced, Pluto is there, ever-present. Poochy Pluto symbolises the capacity to shift a dancer's life style, way of thought and behaviour totally - forever. It rules mass thinking and the trends that society first rejects, then adopts and finally outgrows.

Spooky… Pluto rules the dead and the underworld - all the powerful forces of creation and destruction that go on beneath, around and above us all the time. It can bring a lust for power with strong obsessions. And don't be surprised if your friend with a tail that stings, is into heavy, clairvoyant, transcendental meditation; it's the proud domain of the scorpion.

Blend this spookiness and the dramatic pitch and fiery passion of Paso Doble music with Scorpio vigour, passion and intense jealousy, and presto! you have a spicy, proud Pluto potpourri - a gust-of-a-goulash. This sign is bold and striking, a fire-ball of zest, zeal and vigour - it's nice to be around Pluto the puppy - a great inspiration. Just watching them dance, makes you want to boogie down and shake it all around.

The Scorpio dancer is ambitious and very determined to do well in every thing. There is no such thing as "I can't get this or that move, technique or figure right''; rather "I will, I must and I can; come Hades or high waters." These dancers generally write every detail of every step in a book, not as a reference for steps to be checked prior to having a lesson, no, as a meaningful guide to purposeful practising in the kitchen. This, they claim, saves review-time during lessons. You see, in addition to their abundant vitality, they also have brains.

The ruler - Pluto (no relation to Mickey Mouse) can at times be incomprehensible; one-minute Scorpio is cucumber cool, the next, hot as hell, causing a Rumba in the plutonian jungle. Pluto the puppy would make a perfect criminal if his/her keenness of mind and cunning is not sublimated - channelled to constructive avenues such as DANCING and COMPETITIONS.

Scorpio & Capricornin…
ROMANCE: is dramatic. Opposing conditions boil: uncontrolled water and unrestricted fire. This one is wild. Has no balance, no control, no direction, no style, no restraint. Inner systems are disorganised. Impulse propels, recklessness adds to the speed, lack of rhythm and morality takes this one too far out. There are too many involved, too many consorting entanglements. Romance is irresponsible, romance can't sustain - a fizz. This one dances into others - lacks emotional intuition and Floorcraft.

LOVE: is in disarray. Affections are shallow and emotions theatrical. Nothing relates to love, has no need for love, won't love. Relationships are fleeting - just a flash of interest, quick-fading. There is nothing constant, nothing deep. Has no future. It's a mind game: it's all façade, all hollow, all lip-service - nothing of value… a depleted shell.

PASSION: is tumultuous. Frustrated energies explode. This one serves to indulge, to entertain, to ingratiate. Anything goes when the whistle blows. This one is carnal. Nothing is undone, nothing withheld. It's all eccentric, quixotic. There is no continuity, no follow-through. Physical exchange is an escape from reality - a stark act.

Dance: Is delightful disaster. Rhythms stay static, unpulsating; melodies clash. Unity of styles and patterns conflict - a cumbersome jaunt. Presentation and projection is bizarre, boisterous, damaging and very physical - a painful, acceptance. Hearts beat and boil, feet collide, bodies bump and bounce. Tempers flair vigorously. Arm and leg styles are over-active, uncoordinated - a hazard to every social circumstance. Respect of music, song and dance is lost… harmony in each other is lost - progress stultified. This combination is anti, unstable. Play it short-term.… needs change urgently.

To every Scorpion dancers we say "put a little sting in your Swing and let the catalyst of vigour transform the negative into dancing, dancing, dancing - Happy Birthday."
