Somewhere in the middle of this, Ken Weaver, our wedding coordinator from Disney, checks in on me
and gets the flowers and table favors (mom made the favors: a little Mickey-silhouette base with a tiny vase of
spray roses). Ken is flanked by people with microphone sets on their ears (Disney helpers). They grab the stuff
and head on about their business.
I tell the photographer "ready!" and we're off to take pictures.
We take a couple pictures on the bridge in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge … but the crowd is getting to me quickly
(9 am Saturday morning, of course it's crowded). We head outside to get some shots. We take some in various places,
with different combinations of the bridesmaids and me.
There are a lot fewer people here, and lots of congratulations from those who pass buy us. The room balconies all
around start popping up with folks though - I don't notice them until I here some voices. I look up and I hear
the voice again, a little girl with her family is on the balcony and she's yelling "hi bride!" Oh, that
made me feel wonderful, and I turn and wave at her.
When we are about finished I hear one of the girls say "oh look" and I look up at the terrace where the
ceremony will be. Five very handsome men are standing up there, including Frank. I duck behind a tree and tell
the girls to tell them to get off the balcony for a minute. Heh, one of my girls (Ivy) and both the ladies have
plenty of moxy when it comes to telling men what to do. They run over to the balcony and tell them to move. Photo
session over! (It's about 15 till 10 now). We run back to the room to get the mothers and anything else that's
needed to be gotten. We run into dad and he says it's all taken care of and no one is in the room.
We check the room, just to make sure. The boutonnieres, rings and vow cards are gone,
all set. We head up to the 4th floor, where the Sunset Terrace is, and wait. The ladies can wander around a bit.
I have to sit in the elevator area (a cozy chair there) so that I won't be seen. A few people come to visit me,
including Reverend Sherry Gustafson, our officiant. She keeps me very calm by talking about everyday stuff, and
asking about how Frank and I met.
When it's time, I wait just around a corner (big glass windows to the balcony, so I have to hide), and watch as
folks go in. The music is wonderful … we have a violin and flute playing.
Music selections:
Mother's seating: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Groom/Groomsmen: Rondeau
Bridesmaids: A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
Bride: When You Wish Upon a Star
Recessional: Queen of Sheba
