Lana and Frank's Wedding

Skipping to about an hour later - no rest for the weary. Our photographers are thrilled with everything we were doing, and had asked if they could possibly have another photo session with us before the dessert reception. I consented before even asking Frank. He didn't complain. They had talked to Ken about a spot they could take more pictures of us at, and Ken recommended Sunset Point at the Polynesian.

We get dressed into our evening duds. I wear a beaded sheath wedding dress for the evening. I yank my curls back in a french twist with a couple combs, and bobby pin a veil in my hair behind the tiara. (It truly wasn't a veil to begin with; it was a wateau train for the dress. But I had a floaty wrap out of similar stuff, and the train just worked better as a veil ;) Frank puts on his tux and we pin his boutonniere on, but at this point, it's looking pretty sad. At about 5:15 we went to the Polynesian.

We meet the photographers and hurry out to Sunset Point to catch the sunset. The backdrop is lovely, with the lake and the castle in the far-off distance. We take pictures, but we never get a "warm" sunset that the photographers were looking for. After about a half hour, we finish up.

By this time, my feet are killing me, so I take off my shoes and walk in my stocking feet. Frank is envious. His shoes hurt too, but he won't mess up his good socks that way ;) We limp back to the car and head over to the All Stars to drop off stuff to our folks, pick up Frank's suit, and again pick up Michael. (We have a rental car trade to go through, with Michael's help.) At the Wilderness Lodge, once again Michael follows the bride and groom through the hotel and grumbles about being a third wheel. It's only about 6:30; we don't leave until 8:15 for the dessert reception. We talk Michael into staying with us until then. Frank and Michael go to the Roaring Forks snack bar and get us some PB&Js (I really wanted one of these; they had colorful swirly bread) and drinks to hold us over until the desserts. Frank changes into his suit and favorite french blue shirt.
