We end up in an impromptu receiving line just inside the building, basically just lots
of hugs and handshakes … and pictures being taken.
Eventually, Ken ushers people to the cocktail reception on the Sunrise terrace on the other side of the hotel lobby.
We go back to the Sunset terrace for a couple more pictures before we head over to the cocktail reception too.
Ken has brought Frank and me each a drink before we even get to the other terrace. I never make it to the cheese
and fruit table. I'm too busy talking to folks and getting pictures made. However, I steal a bit of everything
from Mom's plate (good cheese :). Sis has a juice concotion that she's gotten from the bar. It's a mix of grapefruit
juice and other stuff. Mom tries it and makes a face; I try it and love it (more than my glass of white wine ;)
Sis gets me a glass of it (I may have drank half that glass).
We go ahead and make lots of group photos while we're here. In the photos I've seen so far, I havethe most incredibly
huge grin on my face that I've ever seen.
At one point in the cocktail reception Frank's mom decides her jacket (lovely beaded thing) is too
heavy for the rest of the day. So she gets the key to our room and takes it down (I believe she had a lighter jacket
to wear down there). It occurred to me that we had tons of folks' stuff down there in our room (all the bridesmaids'
and all the mothers' stuff). I don't fret, and even mention to Frank that we might have a gathering in our room
afterward because of the stuff. It's okay with both of us. I really enjoyed the mingling in the cocktail reception…very
free-flowing with pictures nearby so we still felt "together."
Around 11:30 (no watch, can't be sure ;) we left to go downstairs to our transportation. Oh, I forgot to mention,
my dad came up to me after the ceremony and asked "Did you see your car down there?" He had come in and
spotted it that morning: a lovely vintage Rolls Royce. Dad had come early, asked the driver if the car was for
our wedding, and talked to the driver a good bit. When he talked to me, it was evident he was quite taken with
it. I mention this Frank, and get his okay on asking the two dads to ride with us in the Rolls Royce. Frank likes
the idea, and our coordinator, Ken, says it'll be tight, but it can be done.
We get pictures with me and Frank and the car first (and the driver ... dressed very nicely!). I
notice our bus for the guests; we got a Disney Cruise Line bus! (they look comfortable and colorful). Ken had warned
us that we could request a DCL bus, but it could be any Disney bus. Frank and I get in the Rolls Royce (more pictures)
and I wonder how we'll fit one dad with us in the backseat, and maybe one up front. No worries! The driver unfolds
two more seats in front of us. Amazing! Not incredibly comfortable for my long-legged dad, but it worked! We take
off for Epcot and the Living Seas.
