Lana and Frank's Wedding
Wedding Report

flutter

I'm surprisingly calm as I walk in with my Dad. I see enough to notice that everyone has fit comfortably on the little deck. I've been peeking around the corner at my groom, and now get to look at him looking at me. He looks rather stunned. (Good! ;)

My grandmother tosses rose petals on me as I walk down the aisle (my grandmother is so cute :) Dad gets me to the front of the aisle, and he has to cue me to hug him (I'm numb but very happy at this point).

The ceremony consisted of a welcome by Sherry, then a prayer. A reading from Sherry, the vows that we wrote to each other, traditional ring vows, a ring vow from Frank to Ivy, then a final reading.

Frank to Lana:

Lana, we're surrounded by our family and friends today to witness our marriage. I've been looking forward to this moment ever since we became engaged. I can think of nothing more splendid than being your husband.

My love, do you know how much I adore you? You've shown me that I am a man worthy of love, and I am forever grateful.

You've earned both my respect and devotion. How can I return the love and compassion you've shown me since I've known you?

I can think of one way. I make this vow to you my dearest friend - I promise to love you, now and forever.

I would be honored to become your faithful companion, your knight and champion, your inspiring minstrel.

I love you Lana. Will you take me as you husband?

Lana: I will.

Lana to Frank:

Frank, I feel blessed to have someone love and respect me as much as you do.

You are the brightness and joy in my life - you make all of life's burdens more bearable. I'm honored to have such a wonderful best friend. There is no question in my mind that we belong together.

I see in you all the qualities that make a good husband and father - you are kind, gentle and considerate. You willingly give your heart and love. You are strong and responsible.

It would be my honor to be your partner for the rest of our lives. I promise to love you, now and forever.

I love you Frank. Will you take me as your wife?

Frank: I will

Frank to Ivy:

Ivy, I love your Mother, and today I will take her as my wife; but did you know that I love you dearly as well?

I want to be as a father to you, and I invite you into my heart.

We will have happy times together - you, your mother and I.

With this ring, I give you my love.

The ring he gave Ivy has a sapphire in it. His engagement ring to me, and the ring I gave to him as an engagement ring later, both have sapphires in them too.

As we exit, we are showered with petals -- not just from the guests beside us, but a full dump of petals from the balcony above. (I know we have a couple of friends/family members up there with their video cameras … and I have a sneaking suspicion that Phil is the flower dumper.)
