This is Amy on her ninth birthday. Isn't she a cutie?
Amy
A beautiful baby girl was born
On a warm September day.
She was wrinkled, pink and tiny,
And it was decided she could stay.
Her name would be Amy Dawn,
Her Mom and Dad agreed,
She made them proud and happy
She was beautiful indeed!
She cried a lot, her stomach hurt,
She didn't like to sleep,
Her Mommie cried and walked the floor
And her sanity tried to keep.
Her Daddy worked all day and then,
When he came home at night,
He tried so hard to get some rest
For his nerves were, Oh! so tight.
When she finally decided that she liked
Her food, her bed and clothes,
She grew to be a precious thing
From her head to her tiny toes.
She grew so fast, the years went by
It's getting harder to remember,
That tiny, crying bundle that came to us
That twenty-third of September.
Shes grown to be a real tomboy
She don't care that her hair isn't curly
She likes to jump, dance and sing
And do things, not too girly.
Yes, she's a sassy nine-year old
Who still likes to have her way,
But if things could be done over,
The vote would still be,"Amy you can stay"!
