The Story of
My Son!
I really don't
know where to start with this page.
We are looking
for the Birth Family of our Wonderful
Son..... I
guess that I should start in the begining.
Way back
in late September or early October of 1967
we received
a phone call from some friends that knew
that we were
wanting to adopt a baby. It seems that
a friend of
theirs, a minister, knew of a women that was
giving up her
baby for adoption. She had one request,
that the couple
that got her baby be a member of the
Church of Christ.
That is why we were called. We were
members of
the Church.
The story
that we were told is that this women had 2 boys
that were somewhere
around the ages of 11 and 13. This
was one of
the reasons that she was giving up this baby,
was to protect
not only the baby but her other sons from
the teasing
and bad treatment that they might have to go
through if
she kept this baby that was conceived out of
wedlock.
I want
to say here that I am so very Thankful that she
had the courage
and love to give us her child to raise.
As someone
that wanted a baby so bad, I just don't know
how she could
have been so loving of not only this child,
but her other
boys as well to give her baby to us. I Thank
God first and
then this women that I have never met for
more joy than
she will ever know.
Here is a picture
of our Son at the age of 7 Months.
I hope
that someone will see these pictures and
see a family
resemblence and know a similar story.
Here he
is about 7 or 8 years old.
This last
picture was take with me when he was
about 21 years
old.
Jami was
born on October 19, 1967 at aprox. 5:30p.m.
at a hospital
in Porterville, California. The Doctor that
delivered him
was a Dr. Wolfe. The name on the
final adoption
papers that were given to us by the
judge was Baby
Boy Chidester.
We were
told by the State of California Social Worker
that the Birth
Mother was in her early 30's and was
single. I believe
they said that she was a widow but
I may be wrong.
We were told that the Birth Father was
married and
that his wife would not give him a divorce.
We were also
told that he was legally blind and that this
was due to
an inherited trait. Something to do with the
optic nerve.
We were also told that it was possible that
our son could
inherit heart problems and had a good chance
of becoming
a Sugar Diabetic. I would like to say for any
that might
have a personal interest in this, that as of today,
and he is now
31, that the only one of these that has shown
up is that
he has had a heart murmur all his life but this has
never caused
him any problems. He is healthy and strong today.
Jami would
like to meet his birth family, at this time mostly to
really know
what they look like and to know if he looks like the
brothers he
has never met. I would like to meet his Birth Mother
to be able
to say Thank you in person to her. She will never know
what a blessing
she has given to me.
I must
confess that he is not an Angel but he is a Wonderful young
man, and I
am very proud to call him my Son.. I love him very much
and could not
have asked for a better son. Words can not express
the Love and
Joy he and his younger sister have brought to me and
still do..
They are my life and my love.
We have
already found the Birth Family of his sister but we are still
looking for
his Birth Family. If anyone thinks this sounds like it
could be you
or your family, Please contact me.
